Steam Deck / ROG Ally / Controller Support Availability?

I noticed in a thread a few months ago that there was mention of adding Deck support (potentially controller support) and was wondering (and hoping) if that was still in the works and if there was any ETA on when we could expect it. Only just jumping into the game now with the sale going on but man this feels like it would be a BANGER on the go.

Making everything compatible with controllers is a HUUUGE task, and it’ll probably take me around 1–2 months to get everything working. So my current plan is to work on it when the game is mostly ready for 1.0. There are still lots of things coming before that, so I don't have a solid ETA just yet.

As for Steam Decks, there are some community layouts you can use to play the game already! I’ve heard it also works on the ROG Ally, though I haven’t had a chance to try it myself.

It actually works quite well on steam deck, does struggle to outright hit 60fps with plenty of dips but perfectly playable at 30 or 40fps... more annoying than the controls on steam deck are the stutters which are quite regular even if locked to 30fps with plenty in hand. Should work a bit better on handhelds i feel but its in development so im sure a polish pass will come.

Please Devs , make it Steam Deck optmized. This game is a perfect type of game for me to play on the SD. In my day to day schedule is almost the only way I can play games.
