Scrap Tank Thoughts
The scrap tank is OP

i finally managed to get it rolling on an endless run, and even with no ice towers for range upgrades, by the time i died on wave 28 (offline at work, so no leader-board sadly) it was firing 17 times a second, 51 times with the boost, 100% crit rate, and 2800 damage, unfortunately with no range, i couldn't maze enough to slow things down and got stunned enough to lose

Personally, i think that it needs to be nerfed, and heres my idea for how: i think that it should have slightly better starting stats, but only scale off of one stat at a time.

so if you sacrifice a lightning tower to it first, it will convert to shock damage, and only scale attack speed, no matter what you feed it.

this way, you would be more heavily encouraged encouraged to build multiple of them, to fill several niches, say a frost long scale bombarding one, or a lightning fast firing one set to target low health, to finish off all the little guys.

the second part of this, is that fire, normal, and poison should have different effects.

to start, as an overall change to poison, the green "poison damage" bar on the health bar, should count as missing health, meaning that poison towers would count a fully poisoned enemy as dead, and move on to something else, instead of wasting shots.

the poison effect should increase damage, you could put it near the start, and the high damage, low fire rate, small AOE, could be used to fully poison small groups of enemies, or with the volatile poison relic to turn high health enemies into bombs.

fire, should increase AOE, turn it into a mid powered nuke that sets everythign on fire.

and normal non-elemental towers, should increase all stats by, a tiny amount, so people can still have their OP mega tank, its just a much harder to pull off and less viable strategy.

That’s kind of my point though, I love the strategy in this game, and how towers synergize, but if there’s an option where you can just dump all your funds into a single money pit, and win, that kind of defeats the purpose.

scrap tank definitely needs more downsides fs, but not in terms of endless. it trivializes the base game a bit and while thats fine "just don't use it" it does feel bad when you feel like your nerfing yourself to be epic and play "the right way". burn refreshing with lightning tower can get you to break round 30 if you have the patience for it. scrap tank eating towers should in my opinion be a relic you get rather than the base tower so it fits with the scrap theme of having a set amount of ammo.

Actually the initial idea for the scrap tank was to start with limited ammo, and you'd have to keep feeding it 1x1 towers to convert them into ammo with different elements. It sounded like a fun concept, but it turned out to be a disaster during actual gameplay, so I scrapped it without showing it to anyone 😆

In the next update, there’s going to be a cap on the total value of towers you can feed into each scrap tank (300 by default, and you can upgrade it to 500 if you want to focus more resource on it). So you can still build a powerful tank, but it’ll cost you a bit more, and you won’t be able to dump all your money into it.

w change, i cant wait for the next update! i hope future towers are as crazy and unique as scrap tank and pray that the 3x3 dice tower files a false death certificate of the player if they roll a 1

The Scrap Tank Tower's upgrade limit of 300/500 gold is too low, and I think it is significantly inferior in terms of performance to other 3*3 towers. The Scrap Tank Tower's greatest appeal was that it could be "infinitely upgraded," but I feel that this has been spoiled.
Also, by weakening it so much, it has become virtually impossible to get through wave 25 in endless mode.

Excited for this change, and making specialized scrap towers, with the new much lower limit, have you considered making the upgrades exponential?

I was super excited my first use because it kept saying I would get a %20 increase to firerate, but it was always based off the base fire rate, and not exponential like I had initially assumed.

It def would have been super OP with limitless upgrades, but now with a finite amount of buffs it can take, rewarding stat specialization with exponential growth would be neat
