How are you supposed to get through the uni grind?
Am I supposed to set a bunch of priorities to and then super fast forward through 4 years?

If you have a relatively simple character, no one else in the household and have their actions optimised then yes it's possible to fast forward the 3 years of a degree. You could also push your luck and get a part time job while studying, try to maximise health/happiness points during this time as a buffer for the future, or increase the difficulty mid-game if you're finding it too easy.

But what is the designed intended way to finish a degree?

Can you clarify what you mean? You finish a degree by going to study it, as long as you do enough hours to not get expelled

I mean you expect players to fast forward for at least 30 minutes while their character works on their degree? There isn't anything else to do. If you were to complete the degree without fast forwarding it would takes hours and hours of real time with minimal progress.

Oh sorry if it wasn't clear, here are other things you can do while studying your degree:

- Get a part time job while studying
- Try to maximise health/happiness points during this time as a buffer for the future (by doing activities and overflowing your Fun need or any other preference-specific needs)
- Increase the difficulty mid-game if you're finding it too easy
- If you have some money saved up you could also try start a lemonade stand or food vendor which doesn't require experience

Also the fastest setting is 10 seconds for a month so if there's nothing to do that interests you, you can get through the degree in about 7 minutes.
