OMFG! Preparing food is AGGRAVATING!

I honestly want to know if there's an easier way to cook the damn food!!!! For animals with a 10% deviation percentage, it's starting to make me mad! Then I go through herbs like a complete ass. Is there any photo with a guide on how to cut the damn food???! Or anything to make that easier for idiots like me!!!! Ugh :GhostScared:

Do not put more food in the briquette cart than is necessary for cooking. Since there will be one cutting briquette on the table, which will have the weight of all the briquettes in the cart of this type

I 100% feel this pain, its why I never collect poop anymore.

Sometimes I try to visualise the bricks into segments using its texture as indicators, then I try my hardest to figure out the math. Example: Need 1.5 from a 4.6 brick;

half of 4.6 is 2.3 and half of 2.3 is 1.1ish so I know a half of a half is just a TINY bit off from 1.5 then I just add a teeny bit more.

The math gets annoying especially if you arent starting from whole numbers. I've literally learned the other way to diagnose because I didnt wanna do it anymore.

Oh! Okay! Because stupid me keeps putting extra herbs on so I don't have to keep running back to the fridge. I'm so irritated lol! STUPID MATH! Stupid moose & elephants! Your 10% deviation is KILLING ME! lol

For me its the wallabys I always mess them up for some reason Dx I feel it
I've had to weigh out food for hippos irl and it was easier than this set up lol

fun fact: some food doesnt need cutting at all. yes. you ccan put the behind the cutting line and just press lmb then it doesnt fail. this only works at some foods
Totally not a bug Oct 12, 2024 @ 10:43am
ive never once had food fail. sounds like a skill issue

I just don't like the 10% deviation..that gets me every time

I RAN OUT OF HERBAL AND I THINK I SOFTLOCKED MY SELF. CUS YOU NEED HERBAL FOR EVERY SINGLE ANIMAL! THIS SYSTEM FOR IT IS SO BLOODY ANNOYING. *deep breath* sorry for the caps, food making makes me wanna cry

I almost never have more than 0.1kg deviation. Unless you put on more ingredients than necessary pretty much every cut is 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 2/3 or 3/4. Not very hard fractions to figure out by eye...

Can't believe I'm doing this but here's some basic math for you:
1/2 means cut down the middle, i.e. the same amount on both sides of the laser.
1/4 is half of half. While aiming the laser at the middle, use your eyes to find the middle of one of the halves and then put the laser at the place you have decided on before cutting.
1/3 means you should put the laser so that one side has double the amount of the other one. (If you need 1/6, first aim for 1/3 and use your eyes to find half of that).
1/5 is perhaps the most tricky one since it's a prime number but it usually helps to always start by aiming down the middle and then finding a reasonable point to cut.

Of course you just mirror the process if you need 2/3, 3/4, etc.

Food is incredibly easy. Its just visualising fractions - and to be honest, once you've done it a few times you can eyeball a kg. And it doesn't really matter about running back to the fridge as you end up back at the hub in-between each animal anyway for the plot. Personally, I always make the food at the hub before leaving, so that if I screw up or realise that I haven't got enough ingredients I can easily grab another brick
