If you're going to critique a game do it right
Zoochosis is not a good game, far from it, but it's not at all misleading and people are way too quick on jumping to conclusions and say that this game is a scam. I think this game was a passion project by people who were far too ambitious for what they could accomplish. There are things in this game that are worthy of praise, but also, what frustrates me about it's most vocal critics the most, is that they don't discuss the genuine issues with this game. They talk about how misleading the trailers were (they weren't at all misleading) and they claim it's not a horror game when it still is. It has obvious horror themes, just because it's not scary doesn't make it not horror. If you're going to critique the game, do it right at least. Like for ♥♥♥♥♥ sake, are you struggling to find actual complaints where you just decide to make stuff up?

And before you say I'm defending the game and sucking the ♥♥♥♥ of the developers, this game is BAD, for numerous reasons:

-Some Mechanics are unclear
-Repetition works for how the game is structured, but the team goes way too far with it
-A huge chunk of the game is just doing really tedious back tracking
-The choices you can make and what you can do to unlock the endings is not at all clear
-Animation quality is all over the place
-Very, VERY poor optimization
-Lip syncing is so bad it's distracting
-Subtitles don't match sometimes
-There is no variation in taking care of the animals

Also another thing for the people who say that the trailers are misleading, tons of ♥♥♥♥ can get cut during development late into the game's development life, the small things changed from trailer to game were cut content. They weren't overselling the game in any manner. It's not some Aliens:Colonial Marines level mislead, this is normal for games, and even then, the trailers are still pretty close to the final release.

If you're going to critique a game, do it right, don't make ♥♥♥♥ up

Thank you for your detailed feedback! Over the past few months since release, we have thoroughly analyzed all the issues in the game and have been gradually addressing them. Unfortunately, the gameplay issues are quite extensive, making it impossible to fix everything at once. That’s why we are carefully rolling out patches to avoid breaking what already works well, while ensuring they serve as a foundation for more significant changes.

Looking at the patches, it might seem like we're focusing on everything except gameplay improvements (reducing repetitiveness, adding more horror elements, QoL changes, etc.), but that’s not the case!

Once again, thank you for your feedback!

I've noticed and the game has gotten much better due to your hard work. Still not perfect, but it is pretty damn good and I can't wait to see how this game looks even further in the future!

Bravo, Clapperheads :D
While you are right about the trailers not being misleading as it showed clips of meeting Doc and starting your night at the zoo, you're also wrong as there are no animals in the hallways- actively stalking you, the player. They stay inside of their enclosures in the actual game. They made the game sound like a survival horror (think like Resident Evil) but in a zoo with the objective of curing the mutated animals... in which, this is an optional thing still and is not the main focus of the game.

I'm aware this was probably because the models didn't fit or animate right, a lot goes into game making- especially coding and other technical things that can go wrong. As for them making the game sound like the main objective is curing the mutated animals and adopting a similar idea to Resident Evil in it being a survival horror... that's pretty bad and what sounds like- misleading.

Now, don't get me wrong- I love this game despite it, just disappointed as it could've been more than what it is now.

Now, the Horror of Zoochosis. People have different definitions of horror and it depends heavily on what they're looking for- they could be looking for a horror game that genuinely terrifies them or a horror game that messes with them mentally- often called Psychological Horror like Omori or Mouthwashing.

Zoochosis, to put it simply, is neither. It loses its scare factor quickly with the jumpscares and predictable mutated animal transformations. As for any psychological horror, there is none unless you count the mutated animal designs- sure, people have different definitions, there is no one label. People call this game "not scary" not because of the environment but because of the repeated jumpscares, predictable mutated animals and the boss fights which are made easier and not as tense anymore. Also, the story isn't scary at all, it's characters are all dumb like WHAT DO YOU MEAN THAT PAUL FED HIS FAMILY SOME MEAT FROM THE ZOO AND THAT MARRIED WOMAN ON THE PHONE THOUGHT TWO PEOPLE'S LIVES WERENT WORTH SAVING BECAUSE ONE OF THEM SLEPT WITH HER HUSBAND??? Anyways...

That's all I'm gonna say, it's like late at night here and I think I'd go insane further typing more issues with Zoochosis. But just know, I love flawed games!! Security Breach is one of them besides this one which got the same treatment.

To be fair, at the time I made this post, I haven't played enough of it to fully realize what was happening in the game. It wasn't entirely informed and I was just irritated by a few people who were harping on the game unfairly for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reasons. So I agree that the way you detail it is more spot on than my assessment here that I made when the game game out on launch.

Yeah, I just saw that now LOL but I can understand on the people calling this game a scam when it comes nothing close to that- even if it's a little misleading when it comes to the trailers.

Resident Evil isn't a "survival horror" anymore but a cringe worthy shooter, bad example...

Have you not played the series after 6 or Umbrella Corp? The recent Resident Evil games are absolutely survival horror games still. While it has been simplified, 7 and 8 still require you to manage your resources, ration bullets, and medicals supplies.

Not trying to be mean mate, just that confused the hell out of me, especially after recently playing through 7 on the harder difficulties

Are we talking about the same game? Resident Evil IS a survival horror game, no matter how you look at it. Even the person of the original post pointed out some games that follow the formula of a survival horror game- managing your resources, something Resident Evil- or well, the survival horror genre is known for.
