Medicine bug
I had to restart the entire game because my first play through I wasn't a good enough shot and ran out of chemicals to cure the mutated animal. My second play through I fed the penguins correctly, and they all kept vomiting. One of them got stuck in animation when I tried taking their blood and wouldn't move. I managed to cure the big guy, but when I used the meds on the other two penguins, it wouldn't take. I went back to make more, and it STILL didn't take, and I ran out of chemicals (this time not because I'm a bad shot, lol). Has this happened to anybody else? I'm really upset because I've now played for four hours, and I've never gotten past the first set of animals.

If you run out of chemicals for making the vaccine, the doctor should send a message notifying you that he's sent additional vials, which you can pick up at the HUB, where the Parcel Box is located. You should get an interaction option with the window there. It’s the same place where you could previously pass a meat package to your wife through the window.

Don’t forget that after the tutorial, you can return to the station with the Giraffe to find crafting ingredients, and there’s also a chance you’ll come across an Ampoule box, but that depends on the randomization with each playthrough. These items start spawning after the tutorial ends.

Thank you so much! I will give this a go and see if it works! You're a star!

Stupid question, but: Are you sure you used the right medicine? The medicine and diseases can get confusing. Gastroguard, for example, is for the treatment of Ulcerative colitis and does not help with Gastroenteritis, as the name would suggest. In that case you would want gastrointestinal normilization and for that you would use Enterocure. See what I mean?

Ohhhh my LORD you're right! I just rolled back my footage from stream last night, and that's exactly what happened. To be fair I was dead tired and ready for sleep, lol. So yep, I guess that was all on me! Thank you for saying this, because I would have gone an eternity not knowing ;-;
