No, apparently the mutated meat-eating monsters just kind of roar at you in a cut & paste animation, then you wake up and throw up... rinse repeat.

Like I'm literally watching someone play it right now trying to get the mutant to eat some meat. It keeps walking towards other animals instead, so they move in front of it to stop them. They've done this a dozen times now with zero repercussions.

Bad game is bad.

This is a lot like Amnesia Machine for Pigs in that regards. A bad game too.

I don't own the game nor do i like it. But at least trash this game for the right reasons instead of using mob mentality as leverage to complain about things you don't even understand. There is a spoiler reason why they don't kill you.

Not targeted at you, op. You just asked a question.

They see you as one of them since you also have a parasite

It takes away some of the tension of the game. I would still care more about saving the animals than my own character.

Parasite or no, they'd still defend themselves when you continue shooting at them with the lethal injection. Except they don't. They roar at you, you vomit, they warp away, rinse repeat. There are zero stakes to it.

The character(s) all suck ass so, sure. I care a lot for animals and i can say watching the game made me feel more tension than other games considering it wasn't just self-preservation. It was also to rescue the animals. But i get it.

Idk anything about the game but its easy to assume its a hive mind or whatever and they just let themselves die instead of killing their own. I don't mind it.

Aye I'll grant that not dying removes tension, but the tension from me came moreso from trying to make sure I saved all the animals (and didn't resort to just killing the infected).

That also doesn't really make sense though, because they still let you kill them :P You're not part of it yet, which means they have even more incentive to stop you.

I think it's beyond a stretch (read: just plain unrealistic) to try and apply some kind of narrative reason for this. Are people going to try and come up with a story explanation for why the normal animals just stand around and ignore the mutant as it attacks and eats each one of them? They don't even try to run; they'll literally walk right through the mutant as it's eating another one. It's silly.

It's just one of the many terrible elements in a game full of them. It really isn't that deep lol.

OK trolls or not and spoilers or not I'm gonna say anyways cause no one read the lore always in this games and talk nonsense.
As other say they don't kill you cause you have the parasite but they accelerate the mutation in you so if you vomit 2 or more times cause the mutated animal you can't reach de end of the game or a good ending, you always mutate early and game over, so yes you can't die cause you mutate and kill all the others.
An example if you save the girl and you reach phase 2 of mutation instead help you cure it she lock you in the toilet till the morning then teh fat man open the dor and you mutate and kill them.

There is a consequence for getting attacked by mutants but it's not so obvious as in other games and it's not "you die".
The game could communicate it better how and why it happens because I saw a lot of people complain that getting attacked has no consequences.

Sorry but this is either completely untrue or the game is so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that even the consequences are totally random.

Watch Criken's first run through the game on Twitch last night. When he reached the wallaby pen (either his 3rd or 4th animal), he just started to stand in front of the mutant every time it went to attack one of the animals. He got the "being attacked" scene every time, throwing up every time, and there were ZERO consequences from it. He let the thing attack him at least a half dozen times, on top of the 3-4 times he was attacked by the ape, and nothing happened to him at any point in time.

He killed every mutant, let most of the animals die (killed two penguins himself in the first pen), but he still got the good ending where he saved his wife/kid, the journalist, and himself, and killed the mother... purely by a random guess.

I'm watching Dansgaming play right now, he's only gotten attacked by a monster once, and yet he's showing the exact same symptoms at the exact same points Criken did lol. Every piece of evidence I've seen indicates this stuff is just hard-coded into the game based on your pen progress, and has nothing to do with how you handle the mutants. If it's supposed to be otherwise, again, it's so buggy it isn't even working right.

Yeah animals having absolutely stunted AI is underdeveloped and dumb. The reason they give why you don’t die to the monsters is less dumb. It’s not that deep.

Again, using the fact that the game is bad to complain about literally anything.

Anyway, this place is a waste of time. I just got frustrated someone asked a simple question and multiple people gave them misinformation to fan the flame of the hate train.

of course is hard coded in some points like always after cure/kill mutated animal cause the gameplay being aroun choices you did and when you did, wallabies ofc attack of nowhere the main skill of mutated one is being INVISIBLE and attack from anywhere, gorillas? the same but in the shadows from behind or top of you, well if you can't understand how to beat animals or play against their skill well.... xD
same for endings you can reach good ones (yeah ONES cause there are various bad, neutral, early and good endings not only 1 of them...)
trolls and haters as i said

OK now I know you're lying lol. The mutants all do the exact same thing: they wander aimlessly around the pen, occasionally attacking one of the other animals (who COMPLETELY IGNORE the mutant btw), or coming to roar at you when you shoot them. And then the mutant teleport away during the screen flicker, and goes back to wandering around some more and ignoring the player.

Occasionally they'll bug out and teleport through the roof of the enclosure and just hang out there, walking in place. If you drop meat they might go eat it.. or they'll just ignore it entirely, softlocking you.

They don't go invis, they don't ambush from the shadows. I'm sure you saw that in the trailers, but none of that made it into the game.

Ok, you are very funny at this point, don't even own the game xD dude, you can see my played time in my public profile, I'm almost complete every ending and then gonna complete achievements and you think that know the game better than me haha, please after 2 patches too the devs solve almost everything but my complete runs are made before the patch 1 and other half before patch 2 and my last one tonight after patch 2
And you know what? 0 crashes, 1 minor collision bug and 1 broken cutscene that was my fault for speedrunning too mutch in NG+.

Nothing more to say hater troll, muted.
