Strangely enough there seems to always be someone who cannot be bothered to invest their precious time to deal with a turnbased game but have plenty to spare for whining about that on the forums.
There is a funny thing about opinions similiar to certain aspects of your anatomy. Yes you have one. We all know you do. But that doesnt necessarily mean we want to see it.
It adds to the coding complexity and for what, to cater to the two people who lack the attention span required for turn based? I get that Gen Z is having a hard time with executive function and concentration spans, due to smartphone proliferation & endlessly scrolling on TikTok or w/e but...
Three people died in my coding program, back in the late 1990's, before the modern Internet. If coding was easy, we'd all be waving magic wands, and be coders.
Code your own game, and see how it goes.
Don't you have some gatcha phone game to get back to?
I agree with you here. One polished mode rather than two half done one's is best.
I am mostly turn based fan myself, but I completely agree with you on the naval combat. I absolutely loved naval battles in the old Sid Mayers Pirates as example, there's just something about that simple dance of two moving ships that is endearing.
I think it's frustration of seeing something you'd probably enjoy in a format you do not like.
I get that with puzzle and point and click adventurers myself, lot of interesting stories and games I like as concept but I know I likely wouldn't enjoy playing.
I am far less vocal about it however^^, but I do understand it.
