Troika/Arcanum Vibes for sure

If this game sees a full release wouldn't it be cool if they could somehow get the rights to port Arcanum to a modern engine. Big dream, but would be amazeballs.

No, they've definitely taken inspiration from Arcanum but, this isn't Arcanum.

The demo gave me more of Bioshock Infinite / Dishonored hybrid impressions. Don't think the EA version is going to change that.

You guys would know better. I haven't played it as it would only vastly disappoint me if it only gives Bioshock/Dishonored vibes. To me, those are much lesser games. Arcanum is still mentioned all the time in people's best of all time rpg lists.

I'm purposely waiting for full release and RPG sites/youtuber's impressions before buying. If it's not rpg, I won't really play it. I found the other games extremely lacking and only played them years after release.

I mostly play rpgs and survival games that have rpg elements

Well, you can take my judgement with a bucket or 2 of salt, a lot of people actually get Arcanum vibes from it, but I've been playing Arcanum since it was new, and it's my honorary favorite crpg of all time, and probably my favorite setting of all time.

So, I'm very nitpicky when it comes to comparing games/settings with Arcanum, and New Arc Line does feel distinctly different with my level of sensitivity. Not bad, though, and probably close to the closest thing we are going to get in the coming years.
