The game felt off and I was not sure why until I saw a comparison to Oblivion. A game from 2006. Then it clicked.

Awoved is static, the world feels dead. Every conversation and action is scripted, and outside of those scripted moments nothing interesting ever happens. Guards don't react to anything, you can steal things with no one really caring, there are no unscripted conversations between npc's etc... Attacking non-hostile npcs does nothing as far as I can tell.

Edit: "there are no unscripted conversations between npc's" The npcs stand near each other, statically pretending to be talking with each other at all times, not just when they are having a conversion when the player passes by, creating an odd silent atmosphere. They have seemingly no schedule, making for poor immersion.

The writing seems fine, nothing horrendous there so far. The lore is good, but that is because this is in the vein of pillars of eternity 1 and 2. The characters somewhat bland so far, but perhaps too early to tell. Combat feels shallow but entertaining enough for a while. But the game world being so dead, and me realizing it, sucks so much of the fun out of it. Also, not a fan of the loot system, getting a thousand basic wands or daggers, and then just choosing one to upgrade over and over and over....

Maybe the story will make up for it, but so far it feels too shallow.
You sure have a lot of opinions for someone who doesn't own the game. Where's your mouse icon?

Wow, Arcane Veil really got nerfed. Was it that OP?

Think you forgot the "enabled FSR framegen toggle in settings that is already in the game but Nvidia paid us to leave it out for a month" fix so we don't have to enable it in the engine.ini But hey why make it so more people have a better experience... And still confused why the game does not have the latest version of fsr (you know the one that is better in many ways and is basically a drop in to replace current)

Bro don't even feed him, he litteraly just copy-pasted the top review on steam to farm rewards. What a miserable person...
