Nah, that's more what the Animancers do. I'd say, in terms of lore, the Animancers are the Re-animator/Frankenstein types, and Necromancers are (likely) the more classic magic-using fantasy types. I say this 'cause, although Necromancers are said to exist, we never SEE one.
It should have been a wizard subclass in Pillars 2. But then, there should have been a LOT of things in Pillars 2 that weren't. Hiravias, for one. And more impact from Pillars 1 choices.
