What is your favorite build?
What combination of skills, attributes and gear has proven to be your favorite so far?

I have really enjoyed my twin swords, heavy armor tank build. Good dps and good survivability.

I am currently playing a spin on the above build. Now I went dual daggers, medium armor and less tank skills in exchange for more dps. (I forget to use the in-combat stealth skill sometimes)

Played a mage-gunner in my first playthrough, with an arquebuse as main weapon and a pistol+grimoire in the secondary loadout. Focused on frost magic to freeze enemies before headshotting them.

Next will be a stereotypical cleric with heavy armour and a mace+grimoire, since I've seen so much nice heavy armour and melee weapons for casters in my playthrough that I want to try this out.

Cool!

Did you find yourself spread thin for skill points? Because you used both magic and guns?
I'm using a grimoire and sword for my "main" weapons and an arquebus as a ranged weapon. I also have a lot of gear that has various essence and health regen effects. Most of my skill points have gone into passive abilities like more health, better second wind efficiency, and reduced penalties for stamina and essense for medium armor

Sword and grimoire, for sure. I've also got a decent wand and grimoire as my second set, for when I need to hang back a bit. Often time I end up swapping between them several times during a fight.

Not at all. The ranger tree only has two really dedicated skills for guns that increase damage and slow time while aiming and I found nothing else necessary for using my main weapons. That allowed me to put all other points in mage skills to improve spells and reduce armour penalties.

I basically played everything in my 22 hours and nothing actually particularly stood out, since enemies die very quick and I played on Path and Hard.

At the end I was basically full Frost (Aurochs skin) with the Unique wand that has freeze accumulation.

Builds aren't even needed since skill trees are basically self-explanatory, you pick the bonus damage and rest doesn't even matter, since most of the damage comes from weapon tiers.

I tried a bleed 2H-Greatsword (Unique) Power Attack build, before the bleed did anything the enemies already died from blunt damage.

All elemental mage mid armor with frost wand on hard, would now if I did that again give him the avoid skill from ranger it was a dodgefest in the beginning with light armor.
Full ranger, with two 1handed guns, mid armor, dodge up, bear companion made the most fun in mid to close range, didn't even use the second weapon slot really on path difficulty most of the time.

Only been playing since last nite. I may have to give that dual sword build a try. I play sword and board in lots of games. But also dual wield if they work decently and that looks pretty good. Not sure about this early in the game though as in Level 3.

I would recommend ditching 'standard' melee pretty quick, or the combat loop gets way too boring way too fast.

For my first run-through, I started with a pistol-grimoire build, then swapped to dual pistols/bow or arquebus not too long after. Can't remember the names, but I had a one pistol that decreased reload times, and another that increased attack speed. Together, they were pretty OP.

I have videos demonstrating the efficacy of the dual sword tank build at low and mid levels. TLDR, works great.
Not sure if its my favorite but right now i am using a crazy bow that bounces between enemies (Storm-Sworn) and does a LOOOT of shock damage. I basically crowdcontrol them first and then going in the a one handed axe and a grimoir for arcane veil and siphon, missiles and jolting touch. Its not optimal, but i try to go for more shockdamage and hope it will ramp up. Lot of fun so far... gotta keep it upgraded !

Just reached this "Archmages Domain" (no spoilers) and holy moly this dungeon is great (has actually its own small map). Very trippy and great visuals.

If i plan to do another playthru i might go for a big bonk build with no magic and heavy armor. Like dumb brute character.

Started anew as a cleric with heavy armour, mace and supportive magic. After having played quite the glasscannon before (mage gunner with light armour and no points in constitution or resolve whatsoever) this cleric envoy feels like a walking bulwark and the mace *does* hit pretty hard. Great fun throwing smaller enemies from cliffs using the charge ability, too.
Obsessed with Arquebus here.

The mage looks fun as hell, plus the gameplay video I"ve seen of the warrior I love how the hits seem to have a satisfying impact animation
