Cistern dungeon (spoilers)
I just completed the cistern dungeon along the main quest line. Even though I left the spoiler warning I’m going to keep things vague just in case. Also the specific story beats aren’t that important for my topic.

I hated this dungeon! Before this point the parkour elements in the game led to optional extra things you could try and get but were not a mandatory element for plot progression. In this case you had to complete these sections to progress through the dungeon (unless I’m missing something.) I almost stopped playing at that point.

Did anyone else have difficulty with this section of the game? I asked my son (who also has the game) and he was able to freeze the water in various areas and progress that way. I didn’t have any water freezing abilities so I had to use charge to launch myself through the air instead. At one point I needed to jump up onto a cliff / platform thing and kept missing then inexplicably I just hopped up there. I’m convinced the game must have sort of pity mode to just move you forward (or I got lucky.)

Anyway I was just curious what other people’s experiences with it were.

There are plants that you can throw and use to solve problems. Such as, burn branches, freeze water or trigger machines that require electricity. The game gives you the tools.

Yeah you either carry a spellbook around in your inventory, or you find the freeze plants.
They always put at least a few of them around every time you need them.

No parkour or puzzle was ever difficult IMO.
