Avowed
The Outer Worlds
I was hoping they put the same love in The Outer Worlds to this game as well.
It is sad they didnt. I keep hearing possibly DLC and expansion maybe they can fix the game up from mediocre to a something better. That does happen often with games now a days.

outer worlds was bland as hell
I might mistakenly think that the better a game does for obsidian the more expansions they’ll make.

They make good expansions, the four they made for new Vegas are all quality (blood money is my favorite, old world blues my least)

Honestly I didn't like Outer Worlds.

I had a hard time caring for the characters. New Vegas had a good balance between humor and serious topics.

Outer Worlds was too goofy all the time and when the most somber moments hit, I wouldn't care, I also think it tried too hard to be funny.

I think it's something they did better in Old World Blues because even though it was very humorous almost everyone had a truly tragic backstory and the silliness was just there to hide the true sadness underneath.

I also think it front loaded it's most interesting story beats, like the first planet and deciding who gets the energy.

I guess for me i made my character an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and didnt take it to seriously and at the time i had a urge to play something similar to fallout so it was scratching that itch for me.

Eventually I stopped comparing it to New Vegas, and definitely enjoyed it more. It had an overall better gameplay, and was way more stable than the crappy buggy mess New Vegas still is even with community fixes.

I think the odds of it getting a DLC are good. Game is doing well for Obsidian.

Outer Worlds is by far their worst RPG and that's largely due to the fact is was under-funded and unfinished. Obsidian thankfully learned from that experience and seems to have made a point of having Avowed avoid the issues OW had - lackluster companion abilities, unrewarding exploration, and poor outdoor map design, to name a few.

I don't know where you're getting your information from, but as someone who's played Obsidian's entire CRPG catalogue bar Icewind Dale, Avowed is Just Better than Outer Worlds.

i can understand liking OW's humor more tho, this one's not quite as funny

if it gives you any idea of what the game's Actually Like, the lead director of Avowed is the same woman who directed the DLC for Outer Worlds, aka The Parts That People Generally Agree Are The Best
