This person is not here to have a legit conversation, they are trolling. You can see on page 4-5 of forum that the chuds tried to troll the forum with this oblivion comparison till the points mods had to come and start locking them. Sadly, they only cared for one day then they stopped closing them, so here they are again.
Obsidian themsevles from the first announcement said the game was not trying to be a Bethesda clone, that they will continue to make games in their own style from Outerworlds which is what they did. Yet all this users compare the game with Oblivion and say "clearly sh*t" ignoring the fact all their games in their library also don´t have any of those Bethesda RPG systems, cause you know, not every game it´s an open world sandbox RPG, which Avowed also isn´t.
It´s kind of annoying to discern all the trolls from actual users, but yeah, be wary, tons of trolling in the Avowed forums. Lots of sad people just mad some folks are enjoying the game and they can´t just go play a game they like, they have to stay here complaining about it all day.
check skyblivion, its almost finished
I mean just search "Oblivion Adoring Fan" and feast your eyes :)
Morrowind was pretty nice, even though the vanilla game had character faces that could be confused with pixel art, but Oblivion was polished with higher resolution textures but this aggravating vibe of someone having an acid trip while watching cartoons.
And it was the first game in the series to do away with RPG combat and switch to action game mechanics, but it didn't do a great job. Everything was so janky. Skyrim at least felt a little bit more coherent, sane, and fluid.
This is the real answer, couldn't have said it better myself.
They said that since they knew it was going to be ♥♥♥♥.
I didn't, but OP may be on to something, brilliant idea actually. Wonder if there is still a modding scene for Oblivion.
Thanks, OP!
As soon as I got a better PC my mind was blown.
The point the OP was making though, is that Oblivion is better than Avowed. I mean, Avowed is on the same level as depth as TES Online, and that says a lot.
If the Devs can get millions to buy and play this, or at least a few ten to a hundred thousand at a time, that would be wishful thinking, but they would show the game is a success.
But I dont see it, the game isnt a AAA hit, far from it.
The graphics already gave it away. The game looks slightly better than Valheim. Slightly better tan Rust. Think about it.
