I'm seeing on the steamcharts that it had 18K+ in the last 24h. Even Dragon Age: the Fail guard did better with the 90K players in the first weekend.
But hey, if that makes you happy to telling lies, who are we to tell you otherwise.
Also, almost no one is reading games magazines anymore, considering that they have a bias towards games that have their own political agenda.
even more sources, this is good for obsidian and players.
However, considering the high development cost, which is rumored to be around $100 million, Avowed would have likely incurred a profit loss in the early stages of its release. Factoring in the impact of Xbox Game Pass, where a portion of the player base didn't purchase the game outright, the overall revenue may have been a bit lower than expected.
While it's still early to fully judge the financial outcome, Avowed’s development cost coupled with the sales figures suggests it could take time to recoup its production budget and start turning a profit. Let's see how the game performs in the months ahead!
It’s clear that Avowed could face a significant profit loss early on. Given the competitive RPG market and the lukewarm response from some players, Avowed might have a long road ahead to break even. If the game’s sales don’t pick up, it could be one of Obsidian’s most costly endeavors
100% facts, has not even peeked past 20k players on steam. Then you get everyone saying, "Well its on game pass is why!" Yeah so was Palworld and many other games and they still had higher steam chart current players. Cope harder, game is a flop. Not even cause the BS politics or ideals. It's just a bland game with bland world with bland quests. Yeah, I might not own it but I have seen plenty of lets plays or comparing it vs older games of the genre. The game gets smoked by Skyrim which is like 10+ years old. Oh well.
I already considert other gaming platforms/consoles, seeing those low numbers on steamDB globally, say's a lot about how the game is doing in general. It is also the same excuse that Bioware used for Dragon Age: the Fail guard, telling us that the game sold 1.5 million copies. But is it true? Doubt that, considering that a huge group of that development team of the Fail guard where fired.
But again if it makes you happy to believe that the game is doing great.

If there is ever an Avowed 2, it's going to tank.
It's dropping like a rock in the sales charts. And the first weekend isn't even over.
This is doing much worse than Veilguard, which also had a troubled, prolonged development - and that game flopped hard. These games were made on Californian salaries. They need to make lots of money to be successful.
Is OP coping?
