Game feels soulless and lifeless
Reposting this for the third time. Moderators are actively removing negative feedback, this exact post, unchanged except for this top line, was removed for being "Inappropriate". So, Avowed Moderation Team, please take this as my middle finger to your actions. The audacity to simply silence people who aren't loving your games makes me sick, and now I understand why all the posts you can see are people going "why the hate?". It's because they can't see anyone else's opinion.

Again, as someone who HAS played the game using my roommates PC, I have roughly 40 hours in it.

My biggest issue is how lazy the game feels. So much depth and interactivity have been lost over the years in these "big brand RPG's". Simple but immersive mechanics - like arrows existing as physical projectiles, NPCs reacting realistically to events, or guards actually enforcing laws - are just gone. In Avowed, you can start a fight in the middle of the city, and the guards don’t care. NPCs might yell at you for stealing, but they don’t actually do anything to stop or punish you. Compare this to Oblivion, a game nearly 20 years old, where stealing an apple in front of a guard would have them chasing you down and hauling you off to jail. The lack of meaningful consequences and interactions makes the world feel static and lifeless. The story is just bland, uninspired, and honestly you can tell this game was meant to be a multiplayer experience. It's unfortunate that it ended in this state, and more unfortunate that players of the community are actively supporting terrible launches, but such are the days we live in.

I don’t entirely blame the developers, Obsidian isn’t the same studio it was 20 years ago, but the game’s mechanics feel severely underdeveloped. NPCs are dumber, the story is more generic, and the world is significantly less interactive. The soul of classic RPG's is gone.

You are just beating a dead horse and rehashing the same stuff there have already been dozens and dozens of threads on. Go leave a review of the game with your diatribe or something.
The stationary NPC's don't help at all and the lack of immersive features. I can see why people are saying it feels lifeless.

I will continue to beat this dead horse until they either ban me from this thread, or allow my voice to be heard. I played this game, and I have the right to voice my opinion about it in front of those who are interested in buying it. As the majority of their playerbase is on gamepass, the reviews here are only from those who paid full price, and only die-hard fans would have done so when it was available for $10 so of course they are all positive.

Echo-chambers of support are what leads to developers and publishers thinking they're doing things right, when they in fact, are not.

I remember you from my last post. Agree with your statement
This game was made with just one purpose, to fill the gamepass with more mediocre content in order to justify the increasing prices on the subscription fee.

Yep. Just unfortunate the mod team here seems hell-bent on suppressing any negative feedback.

And that's realistic is it? I remember I was stabbed to death for moving a flower in Oblivion. Not stealing it. Literally grabbing it to move it.

Stabbed TO DEATH!

Or in Starfield, how I accidentally picked up a kids football and was instantly whisked off to a UCSEC space station, threatened with prison time unless I became a double agent in a pirate faction.

So immersive!

In my opinion, better to be killed in Riverwood because you kicked a chicken, then to be actively assaulted in front of guards by an enemy and have them stand and, besides not assist, not even react to what is happening in front of them. So immersive to witness a murder in the middle of a market, and just stand there perfectly still with no emotion. It's as if the NPC's were lobotomized.
I would personally put the two on par with one another, but that's just me.
honestly it's funny, I've spent so long trying to find fun open rpgs that I just gave up and went back to marvel slopfests like spiderman 2 and it's 100 times more entertaining despite itself.

For me, when I play and RPG, it's for the roleplay, to immerse myself in another world and when the people of that world seem just as lifeless as the rock at my foot, I find little enjoyment. That is my opinion, and I have nothing against those that enjoy this game, my issue is the fact my very basic, on topic, and politely worded review was removed twice for no reason other than the fact the moderators can't handle negative feedback.

Not true, I once took a donut out of a very large one's hands and he reacted quite quickly.
i'm sure you'll convince the devs this time op they wouldn't dare lock this one.

The promarxist aggressive censorship by the game developers has not gone unnoticed by a large part of the playerbase, which will negatively affect not only this title, but any other future titles by that same feveloper, as well as the CVs of the said Developers themselves.
