That being said, Avowed is fairly good compared to a lot of other games.
In Sykrim the NPCs went on their daily routines, they all reacted to player, you could attack everyone and guards tried to arrest you, if you do.
Avowed feels like backward developement, being 10 years older than Skyrim.
Wut? They're fully owned by trillion dollar corporation Microsoft. Probably one of the least indie studios in the world.
Larian is technically indie though, because they are an independent developer. But even that is stretching the definition quite a lot from what most people understand it to mean.
Completely expected and safe, sterile creation from modern obsidian.
Also, you realize, OP, that the legendary obsidian entertainment that made KOTOR 2, New Vegas, or Mask of the Betrayer no longer exists, right? The people who worked on those gems moved to pursue other jobs at other studios.
And? Their studio still made the game. The Pillars of Eternity franchise only exists thanks to crowd funding. They have never been a AAA studio. Now that Microsoft owns them, they now have more resources moving forward.
100% family.
