Avowed
Everything feels static
Feels like I’m the only player in a dead mmo. NPCs fees like they are object assets.

Because it is. the NPC's have as much life as the cups on a table in the game.
That's the modern audience
It is to protect the pixels from getting offended.

It's like a bad episode of the Twilight Zone where every person in the village is glued to one spot on the ground forever to have the same conversation for all eternity. It's literal woke hell.
What a surprise in a game where everything, even the npcs are static ... doh :-/

When i saw the scene where a player tried to lure eneyms away from their spawn, i had the exact same feeling of watching a f2p mmo footage xD

Carzy for 70 bucks !!!
By design. It removes all unnecessary

because it is, they stand there, not moving with no dialogue, the water doesnt react to you, there's no fish, it's literally environments full of basic npc copy pasted who dont do a thing, its a lifeless world

Yes, through marketing optimized profit maximization design that dictates deadlines and cost reduction to increase profits, my friend ;-)

Osidian is truly dead. I am so sad. Enshitification as usual after being sold to corporate.
I like the game, maybe a 6/10. But it’s frustrating that the world doesnt react to me or my motions. I want to pick pocket, I want to level up my skills, I want to talk to the guards or see how the prison system works. I’m tired of killing lizards and looting the same things from chests over and over. Maybe mods can fix this but I’m in gamepass. I’ll just wait for elder scrolls 6 in the meantime. Or just go back to Skyrim and fallout nv

It's a representation of a targeted modern audience. You don't like cardboard figures???

They still have their logo and their brand, but that’s about it. The overall quality has gone downhill.

Any time anything gets bought out by be corporations it turns to ♥♥♥♥ without question. Shareholders and $$$$$$$ matter more than anything blah blah blah rich old people suck, story old as time.
Hm. I find any open world game to feel kind of static and boring no matter how much developers spend time and money on trying to create the illusion of life. I'm probably just weird, though.

Avowed is about as living as I expect any virtual playground to be. I probably just have different standards.
They didn't want to dedicate 2 programmers a couple months to create pathing for the NPC in the game.
