according to the internet, the game is 70 dollars on steam and free on game pass, so you get a gamepass subscription for as low as 1 dollar, its going to tank on steam.

company CEO at microsoft gets to say we are doing great we sold 500,000 new game pass subscriptions in february. even if they cancel before the end of february, stock prices go up, he cashs in his stock options, stock prices tank, he gets his golden parachute.

it works for HIM.

Bioware's reputation tanks, sure. but given Veilguard and this game, it was going to tank regardless.

in a total sense, this game probably made money. on paper.

whether or not its a scam to the shareholders is a different issue.

Great game and I don't get why people who didn't buy it have anything to whine about, but the forum is filled with whiners.

I can't think that I have ever complained about something I didn't buy. How stupid would that be???

Some people complain because they are upset that the IP could be fully done if this game flops, some people complain for the sake of complaining, some people complain because they were excited for the game but were disappointed. some people complain to be trolls but regardless of their reason People have the right to complain and they will never stop.

Nope, I just think it's funny to waste your time complaining about something that you aren't going to spend any time and money on playing. Better to use that time on something you do like, surely?

Another L for woke game developers. 17k peak is awful for a AAA game. Oblivion (a 19 year old game) blows Avowed out of the water in every aspect I could think of except graphics. Another game that could have been great for Obsidian, but here we are. Cost of development was somewhere between $100-150 million and Avowed has only sold enough copies to make back a small fraction of that.
