Seems to happen after a few hours, sometimes more, inconsistently. Memory leak or something I wager, even with the latest patch.

Still loving the game though! 44 hours in POTD, mid way through the the third region (which has amazing water colours, compared to the others). Apart from the UE bug, nothing else really has cropped up for me.

Should note I set it to autosave every minute, which lessens the impact of these crashes when they do occur. Game starts up quickly enough that its just a minor annoyance.

one of their shaders is cuasing this, gotta just wait for the fix.

save every 15 minutes, You're going to have to re-do bosses, i had to re-do the final boss 3 times because of the alabama crash

Some suggestions I've found that might help:

Intel 13th and 14th gen PCs might help:

Nvidia Card? Set to Low Latency:

Switching to DLSS/FSR to TSR:
https://www.reddit.com/r/avowed/comments/1iq88fm/is_there_a_way_to_fix_the_uealabama_crash_error/

or: "It seems to be an issue with shader compilation where at a certain level of resource consumptiom by the PC, the Unreal runtime just crashes. I was able to fix this by turning graphics to low, capping the framerate, enabling v-sync, and turning off upscaling/frame-generation. Let me know if that works for you."

Turning off ray-tracing: https://www.reddit.com/r/avowed/comments/1itb3mm/fatal_error_on_launch/
