Update: Avowed is already out of the top 10 on the worldwide Steam charts... (down to #50)

Just a few days after launch. Horrible showing. I don't think we can call this anything other than a flop. Sucks for Obsidian. I doubt Outer Worlds 2 will fare much better.

KCD2 had 250k players, Avowed had 19k. As discussed previously in this thread, this is why the Steam "top sellers" are useless indicators of success to consumers, due to them being weighted heavily in favour of sales in the past 3 hours and moderately on sales in the past 24 hours.

Avowed is an unequivocal failure, further reinforced by the fact that it actually has a lower peak player count than even Pillars of Eternity Deadfire (22k peak players), the game it is a big budget sequel to, the game that failed so hard it caused Obsidian to get bought out by Microsoft in the first place. The only difference is that game didn't deserve to be a failure, just like Tyranny didn't, they were both gems. Obsidian in the 2010's deserved success and didn't get it, Obsidian in the 2020's doesn't deserve success...and still isn't getting it.

I don't think you can really make that prediction based on this game performance, since the two are being made by completely different teams from what I heard

never was... with 14 000 player total. it was all algorithme...cause Monster hunter wild beta reached 450 000 player online at the same time. but was 3rd place

The artwork tab has only had 21 submissions. It's been at 21 all week. No-one cares enough to upload art. Any other game would have 21 submissions an hour, usually far more. FO4, KCD, BG3, Skyrim, Kenshi, RimWorld, Space Engineers, V Rising, Valheim, Factorio? Unimaginable torrents of art get submitted every minute of every day.

Avowed is dead. No-one cares. Rip Obsidian.

At place 12th was Kingdom come I.

And in the further places up to 30 i saw no Awowed.
