I really have no idea who this is.
He's the art director who posted some rants against white guys and Elon Musk a couple of months ago, which caused a feeding frenzy among the alt-right crowd.
By all means keep talking though. Its working out great for you. You dont sound insane or anything.
Elon Musk is an idiot. He is not qualified for the position he has found himself in. I also feel he is very good at taking credit for things he didn't do.
Some white guys are trash. Sucks to suck.
Doesn't mean we all are.
On the statement of the art director; who cares? He's an art director. It is simply his opinion just like it is simply Dave Chapelle's opinion of that controversy he got himself into that one time. That don't mean his skits aren't funny as heck!
Conversely, that doesn't make this game bad.
They predate on anything they can use as controversial to get content.
They escalate what doesn't need to be escalated because 'their opinion matters' and bring a whole cult of personality with them.
They make plenty of revenue by having controverse around, because this means they can make several videos about one topic without ever trying to find something new to talk about or do.
Funny how media and content creators also attacked Black Myth Wukong and it didn't fail, why could that be?
Wait... wait... maybe just because it was actually a good game? Woaaaaa what a revelation xD
Gameplay wise? Wukong was mid af.
Graphic wise? Gorgeous.
It was overhyped and sold due the hype, people are not talking about it anymore.
Not to say it wasn't a "Good game". But it is not as astonishing as people act. It's very bland with many other older hack'n'slash games doing much better in terms of gameplay than Wukong. Or even with less 2010 stuff, like invisible walls.
Critical thinking is good, can't be applied to one game but not applied to another.
What do you mean? Black Myth was praised by the alt-right as being "Anti-woke", meanwhile it did very well because of massive sales in China. I hardly hear anyone talking about it these days, though.
I absolutely LOVE a narrative driven choices matter game.
New Vegas is on of my all time favorite RPGs because of the gritty nature of the quest lines. There is a plausibility to the world that requires an initial suspension of disbelief.
I have no problem with inclusivity and think adding content that allows a gamer to cater a playthrough experience to their own worldview and perspective is critical to achieving full immersion in these types of game.
The problem has nothing to do with an individuals rise to power in one corner of the world.
It has more to do with being vocal about your inclusive game at the cost of long established genre demographics.
It is about crapping on a longstanding well established fan base to gain a little additional monetization.
When you focus on one aspect exclusively, it cones at a cost elsewhere.
The story no longer responds to my desired experience and builds a narrative based on the specific decisions that I make, but repeatedly exposes me to the
1) the inherent villainy of male characters
2) a world where strong male characters not exist without serious character flaws (like bigotry)
3) NPCs of non preferred orientation flirt or make passes despite dialogue choices that support other preferences
There is a difference in inudeing real world issues into a game. To promote equality or draw attention to sensitive political topics.
The conversation has become so focused on allowing one group to have their opinions / feelings elevated above the others.
This creates a scenario where the underrepresented will seek a greater voice. It is just coming to a point where the vocal minority is being replaced by a disgruntled majority.
No one's opinions or views are inherently more valuable than another's.
If I want to play some roided out murder hobo prime specimen of a chad.. I should be afforded that opportunity.
The games today are breaking immersion for ever larger numbers in favor of allowing the marginalized gamer to recieve disproportionate considerations.
People should buy and play what they want to play.
If you like Avowed, buy it and play it, and ignore the drama. That's what i do with my games, though the games i play may be considered by many, boring.
That being said, we can't ignore these games don't seem to be doing well.
Even at the Xbox Store on Game Pass, look where it is...

One can say the years of work and investment these developers put in, it's a shame to see how they turn out.
Indiana Jones isn't even on the list, and that another game supposed to be the big thing this year.
So, "woke" or not, these games are just striking out, and maybe there's just a huge brain drain getting into these studios, but if they don't create games people don't want to play, and their current price tags, these studios are gonna continue to shutter.
Idt that's Trump, or Right Wing social media, but matters in gaming that have been going on for quite awhile.
It's being hated on only because of that racist POS matt and that he wants to spread more cancerous gender politics. Not to mention the game is bland, lazy, and attention to detail is none existent. Should be a $20 game max and thats being generous. But it will die soon thank the gaming gods for that.
What the ♥♥♥♥ do you expect people to do about it? Just consume slop and praise them? No you guys started the culture war and you are going to lose it, emotional blackmail and your "moderation" was only going to work for so long, frankly you reap what you sow, gamers just WANTED TO BE LEFT ALONE.
not to mention unhinged devs saying unhinged things on twitter, that doesnt help either. a growing number of people just dont want to support devs that act like this. especially when the vast majority of games made by devs who think like they do, release mid games at best.
