Avowed
Regarding the so called "Controversy."
Fun fact: Inclusivity options have been in games such as Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur's Gate 3, Hogwarts Legacy and others to.

(Each of them being huge hits.)

You can simply choose to ignore these options, and enjoy everything else freely.

I personally am not always an indavidual whom subscribes to the use of pronouns etc. However, I'm employed and a respectful individual. The type of behavior being shown isn't something that would be tolerated in any professional workplace. Imagine being so bigoted that you think someone having representation or options is something that ruins a game. The rest of the world has accepted such things and even if we don't agree with them. We aren't offended and up in arms over people getting to live their life in peace.

The pronouns and other inclusivity features aren't something you need to use. It won't effect you at all in a negative way. So why fixate upon it now?

The world is filled with people and it is impossible for all of them to agree or be in alignment with everyone else's viewpoints, lifestyle and beliefs. And yet life continues.
That's part of being an adult. I work with people that I don't like and it doesn't ruin my job.

Avowed will launch, it'll be successful and we Avowed fans will enjoy the next installment in the franchise.

Those that hate it and everything else can remain stuck in 2009. We won't miss you.

Well said. But these are largely out of touch, perpetually online chuds. One can only hope they one day grow out of this attitude.
Hm, if there are so many other games with inclusivity options that were smash hits, that just proves the point that this game here is just garbage at its core, not because of those options.

The game is pretty solid tbh, and will probably make a profit since it doesn't have to recoup a gigantic budget.
Opening weekend ...less then 20k max player count.
It's already dead .

How much was the budget?
Way less than Veilguard or the disaster that was Concord.

It's a good game and it's going to be around for a long time. The alt-right can't cancel it.

Yeah, it's telling that the game is still drawing in people despite not being from a famous IP (PoE has a reliable fanbase but is not particularly popular and this is a different genre) is still gaining a decent amount of traction. I doubt it'll sell like hot cakes but we can only see that later, unfortunately with gamepass, battlenet etc. it's hard to see the actual sales.

I called this out already, I haven't heard anyone actually from the community trying to inject this kind of issue into this game particularly, or pretty much any other. I can certainly state that on my own behalf, NO ONE I have heard of wants this or the drama around it/

So yeah, bait without question.

See a very recent post on my profile if you are curious to the kind of fun stuff this kind of behavior generates for folks.

lol YOU got CAUGHT
the "Controversy" is their art director basically saying he wouldn't hire crusty old white guys.. and then got called out on it, and then he doubled down on it, because he is an idiot, and thought that people would then still buy this game.

Fact of the matter is the game is not even fit to be called an RPG, it has little to no immersion and is just a terrible game. It deserves not to sell, it deserves to fail, and it deserves the level of concurrent players it has..

The game is dead.. Obsidian is dead, congrats microsoft you managed to destroy two of the better RPG gaming developers - in Bethseda and Obsidian, and EA have managed to destroy BiowEAr.

You want an RPG these days.. pray Larian never ever ever ever ever ever ever gets bought out. At least Sven knows what he is doing with RPG's, because clearly no one else has a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ clue these days.

Wasn't there a huge campaign by the woke trans mob to boycot Hogwarts Legacy?

Owlcat too. The AAA gaming space just seems anathema to RPGs nowadays. Probably because of their huge development costs and investors wanting certain features in every game that don't translate well to RPGs.

Birdo, from Super Mario Bros 2, was transgender.

As was policy at the time, mention of it was removed from the instruction manual in the Japanese to English translation.

Gaming has always been inclusive. It used to be a refuge for outcasts and looked down on heavily by mainstream society. This extends to tabletop gaming before digital media.
