25 hours to finish the first zone? Are you playing on a super hard difficulty? Cause even people swearing that it's longer than the claims make have said they explored every inch of the main zone in 10 hours.
Maybe the difficulty you're playing on will help make it last more? Lol
If you believe game pricing should be based on length, I'm sure Ubisoft would love a word with you :)
I actively boycott Ubisoft, they're worse than EA and that's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ accomplishment.
Anyway, no. Length isn't the biggest factor on price, quality matters far more... But rather you like it or not, yes, it does in fact matter. I can't justify literally paying extra for a game that can be beaten in one sitting.
Thanks for the honest answer though, 10 hours for the first zone seems to be around what most people say, so I assume I can expect at least 20-25 hours which is a lot more than... 15... XD
Sounds good, thank you! 30 hours is much more reasonable.
The only outliers from this are basically AC valhalla, the main quest of that game is insanely long.
Open world games are made for the side content and exploration, also the reason the main story in most open world games is rather trash, cuz it's simply not the main focus. I assume that is why the main story of avowed is so poorly written too. Unfortunately none of the side content is interesting either or rewarding.
Im not quite finished the first area but thats how its looking for me too!
Only if they're defining 100% as something other than 100% :P There's over fifty different ending slides, most of which are dependent specific combinations of choices or quest outcomes throughout the game. Just to see all of the possible main endings would require three or four playthroughs, and that's without looking at the possible variations on that ending from making particular choices in sub/side quests.
For a single playthrough you might hit 17 hours if you focus almost exclusively on the main quest and largely ignore the sidequests, though doing so means you'd only uncover around 20% of each map, so you can take a guess at how much of the game you'd get to see. Assuming you do the 'main' sidequests, explore a little and take on the smaller tasks like bounty hunting I think you'd probably clock in at around 40 hours for a single run.
I think you're confusing "open world" with "sandbox". Either that or you've somehow never played a single good open world game. like 95% of good open world games are HEAVILY story driven, and the side content is... well... side content.
I can literally only think of ONE single open world game that was even remotely decent, but had a bigger focus on the side content than the main story, and that's Hogwarts Legacy... And that focus on the side content was a detriment to the game that caused people to lose interest pretty fast.
