Really a return to form with a one of a kind role-playing experience. Such a masterpiece that the people who apparently like it rather be here defending it than playing it themselves.

If there ever was a game award for "enemy of the people" it would go to these outlets.
And people wonder why we get bad games with this massive circleje*k going on in the industry.

It's mostly "early adopters" who payed extra and played pre-release. In my case I'm waiting for patches that fix game-breaking bugs the game is filled with. In the meantime I'm here, spreading the word and fighting a good fight. :D

You're a good soldier. Defending a game you haven't played yet, that takes loyalty. March on.

I play the game on Game Pass through Xbox app on PC. Also I'm hardly a good soldier, I stopped playing it because I got a game-breaking bug. You shouldn't treat everybody as your enemy.

I was just joking, since you said you're "fightning the good fight". Sorry about your bug, there seems to be a lot of them on the later parts of the game...

Aside from sleep, I've been actively playing it ever since I installed it last night.

It's a fun game. Obsidian games don't look as impressive as Assassin's Creed: Shadows, but they are highly addictive, once you get into them.

You won't learn a damn thing listening to all these kids insulting it through YouTube and gaming forums. They hate everything. Robert Bateman could post a painting of an eagle and they'd find reasons to trash it, even in America.

It's like playing Whac-A-Mole with a bunch of babies. You're better off sticking a sippycup in their mouths to keep them quiet. You can't learn anything about video games in 2025 listening to teens and young adults.

They use the internet today like a weapon to destroy artists.

It's a childish form of cyber warfare.

Same. Ive been playing basically nonstop since I installed and came to discussions to make sure I wasn't missing anything.
Apparently all I was missing was a deluge of trolls.

I think its really telling of the gaming community that the Cyberpunk devs got death threats because the game doesn't support 3rd person mode, then it got voted live-game of the year despite not being a live-game, and now its all super popular and kids are sending threats to the devs again *for not making more of the game they said theyd kill them over*

Glad you got a game you like, I'm a bit jealous.

You also won't learn anything if you think everyone who has a dissenting opinion is a "crying kid". Also, considering teens and young adults make up a good part of these circles on the internet, where do you get a second opinion from? Genuine question.

I've seen valid points being made from both sides made here, I've also had fun and pleasant interactions. unlike super echochambers like Reddit or Discord, you have a lot of different views here. Sure, not all are arguing in honesty, but that's true for all media - you get a lot of polarity from YouTube essays too, but it's also your responsibility to moderate and balance your media diet.
I for instance like Vara Dark, but I don't agree with everything she says, and some of her videos are embarrassing for various reasons. On the complete other side of the coin I've also watched The Jimquisition since forever, even though I don't agree with most things he say, I still try to listen.
Yeah, but anybody can leave any review on Metacritic. I could go give it a 10/10 right now even though I'm only a few hours in. Or give KCD2 a 0/10 and call it super woke even though I've never played it.

I generally don't have much use for user reviews, but I'd pay attention to the Steam review average before I'd give the time of day to Metacritic user scores.

That sounds f'cking mental, you got any sources for that?

People can leave review scores on metacritic without having played the game. On Steam you have to have played the game. Simple really, that is why Steam ratings are taken seriously and metacritic ones are not.

Metacritics USER score LOOOOL
The one NO ONE needs to even own the Game to be able to mass-spam Troll-Reviews. :steammocking:

You are a crying kid. Teens and young adults don't have fully-developed brains. YOU do not have a fully-developed brain. Its OK, I didnt either until I was in my 20s (likely eeeeeveryone else).

But that isn't why we disagree with you. We disagree with you because your fabricated nonsense doesn't match actual reality. You SAY the game is bad but we SEE the game is good. You SAY theres a conspiracy involving journalists, but we SEE the USER scores.

Ya know what, Im booting the game back up.

People like scores without context, I just used them to get some conversation going.

Gamepass probably being the main way to play dilutes steam user scores a little, it's going to take a long time for it to drop down to a level which could be a reasonable estimate of the general opinion because people just won't buy it here. However, if you read them they aren't as flattering as the journalists words are. I urge you to go read the blurbs, it's embarrassing.
Most users say it's an ok game, but a little disappointing here and there for various reasons I won't go into. Nothing of that sort is found on these outlets. And now you have TheGamer releasing a poorly written article quoting some random redditor that looked at the steam top sellers to use as an argument that "it's doing great despite criticism". This is not normal. It's some personal vendetta or something, cringe is what it is.

Sorry for the rant lmao

"I understand you’re feeling angry, disappointed and want to voice your opinion about it. However, sending death threats to the developers is absolutely unacceptable and just wrong. We are people, just like you,” Zawadzki wrote on Twitter.

Continuing:
"It is also a paradoxical bit of ugliness in the game industry that seemingly the most vile and deeply immoral fans seem to care so little about the people who create the things they claim to love."
