Avowed
Which Weapon has been your favorite so far?
I've been using Sword and shield and have been really enjoying it.

I usually don't like using Bows but it is my switch in weapon I've been surprised with how much I enjoy it when I usually don't.

Shock pistol + frost axe + wayfarer gloves

It is quite satisfying to shoot, hack, shoot and stack up these aoe status effects
I found a great hammer early on and decided to specialize in 2h weapons. So naturally I then found 2 unique shields and 3 one-handers, lol. But hitting things with the hammer and watching them fly is just so satisfying. That and the arquebus for long-range sniping have been great.

Maybe my next playthrough I'll use a pistol/sword combo and shout "For the Imperium!" :p
im just using a wand and grimoire. speccing into a wizard

i heard melee is kinda underpowered so thats the reason i chose mage

im glad that you can respec though. might change my mind later in the game

I've been really enjoying having my party members go do the close quarters fighting while im perched on the high ground sniping people with my bow. Ill have to give a guns a try when i find one.
Haven't had any problems with my hammer, though I usually play these games on easy difficulty anyway, having to hit an enemy 20 times is not my idea of fun. If I wanted tough combat I'd play Dark Souls or Elden Ring. One important thing to remember is to keep upgrading your weapons, or you'll fall behind in terms of damage. It's not my favorite system, but I can live with it.

Yeah, the arquebus with a few of the ranger marskman perks really make you feel like a sniper, eliminating targets before they even see you :)

Im pretty terribad at blocking so when I try to do close up fighting I sponge up a lot of damage lmao
I've been using a sword and shield and also a pistol and magic book. The game is pretty easy so i'm just spreading out my stats and switching up fighting styles mid fight for fun. I doubt i'm ever playing Avowed again, so i'm kind of just trying to experience a bit of everything.
Even at the highest diff.. I just blunderbuss things in the head for 2 shot kills.. >.< An I didnt even spec into it, im a warrior.. Kinda busted..
I normally don't like guns, but dual wielding pistols + head shots = kill stealing every enemy before my companions can hit them is a LOT of fun :D

It helps that there are two good unique pistols you can pick up early on in the first settlement (Paradis).

I'll probably try wands and swords later on, but right now, I get a warm fuzzy feeling every time Kai says "next one's mine" and then...it wasn't.

Poor companions. I need to start saving a few bad guys for them :D
I'm doing a fighter playthrough with axe and shield atm, trying to use parry as much as possible. I wanted a cool two handed weapon, but I am yet to find one. Guns seem really fun, but i'll do that in another playthrough, depending if I I like how the story goes later on. Magic and wands look really fun too, but I haven't touched them. As far as balance is concerned there's very few games like this where ranged combat is not superior to melee, if any at all. I like sticking to one archetype per playthrough in RPGs, minmaxing makes singleplayer games kinda boring. If they ever add hardcore mode like in Pillars of Eternity I will probably do whatever is the strongest though.

Easy respec-ing is great, and wand + grimoire is a solid combo. Once you figure out the grimoire system, it can be a lot of fun, and switching out books on the fly adds some good options.

Will definitely try this style next respec :)
Arbalest (spelling?) and a combination of dagger offhand and pistol mainhand.
Shock bow, flaming sword, and a loooot of AoE spells. I feel like I'm a God(like)!
