Avowed
This game is very troubled and it's future is in danger.
Many bugs, many glitches, cluttered UI and UX, very bad NPC AI (pathing, animations, responsiveness, etc), art style is just not very good, combat is mediocre.

This game feels... very "safe" as well, I don't know how to describe it. The experience is incredibly sterile. The dialogue is incredibly sterile and honestly very cringe-y most of the time. None of this is to mention that the game costs a whopping $70, not including tax.
Almost $100 to play a game that feels, again, overall sterile and messy.

People are coping, ignoring the extremely underwhelming sales number (Avowed sold not even 20k copies upon its Steam release), ignoring the criticism, saying that the game is fine and that everybody saying otherwise is just a grifter or a doomer or whatever. This game is in big trouble.

There is no way this game made any profit from such small sales numbers.

I mean, this is the same Obsidian that made Fallout: New Vegas! What the hell happened!? And why is the playerbase so in-denial about this game's obvious unsuccess?
This feels like people trying to prove a point by winning a battle they've already lost.

The people who made those games are no longer working there. It's now a skinsuit being puppeteered by people who hate their audience, and are more concerned with activism than making quality games. Just like the other old time great studios that fell to the exact same curse.

Is it, though?

Yeah, that adds up. I can definitely feel it.
Every day I find time to come to this forum, to read of how some people enjoyed and liked the game, I like the positivity they emit. They might be gullible, but they seemed happy 😀

Apparently not, not at all!

Uh... it doesn't make the situation any better. It's kind of sad really. Like walking through a psych ward and looking at the patients giggling with glee, unaware of how bad their situation is.

You made a mistake:

It is *not* the same Obsidian that made Fallout: New Vegas. It just isn't. They fired the talented men and women and replaced them with corpo apparatchiks who cannot write a good story even if their lives depended on that.

But they can write propaganda. Sadly, propaganda doesn't sell well, so...

Shouldn't you play the game at least to make statements like this?

who cares? Like the shill said this game'll break even on gamepass alone while laughed at how us all pointing on steam number alone. If its failed it failed not my problem.

I play on both PC and Xbox. I couldn't justify buying this game on PC since I have no intention of modding it.

I understand the game just came out so there's like no mods available for it at all but even when mods start coming out I can't imagine there'll be any that'll be groundbreaking or must-have. I'd rather have the portability of being able to play it anywhere I bring my console. Plus if it ever gets co-op I can do that.

But all of that is assuming that this game will continue to receive support, which, at this point... I don't know.
35 hours in and I haven't found a single issue. Try getting a PC that was build after 2010.

Well then why are you here in the first place lmao. The forums are for people who want to discuss the game, not for people who are ambivalent to its reception and issues

At least it didn't cost you anything, so you can walk away without being out of pocket. Or have you not actually played it?

I'm running a 2080ti i9 with 32g of ram. I'm not encountering any graphical issues at all outside of the uncommon stutter or frame loss.
That's why I didn't bring anything up that would relate to issues with PC builds.

Even if I did get it on gamepass I would still be here saying $70 is not worth it for this game. They are asking too much. I am honestly thinking of refunding the game.
