JW if the game is actually good, and it has unanimous praise from even your favorite reviewers. At what point would you open your mind to the idea it might be fun

85 Metacritic. Though the scores are pretty varied, I think most places had it as a 7, but there's a few 9s that drag it up and not many 4 or lower to counterbalance those.
Seems pretty accurate to me. Most of the complaints can basically be boiled down to 'it's Skyrim, in space' and most of the praise can equally be boiled down to 'it's Skyrim, in space'. Haven't played it myself, but I'm guessing it's a case where fans of how Bethesda do things like it while those who aren't didn't.
