$20 extra for 5 day early access?
No DLC just some butt ugly "skins" and digital stuff none of us ever touch in any game . . I also expected this title to run for $60 being not quite triple A. Obsidian . . giving red flags

Yeah, doesn't seem worth it to me to play 5 days early. That seems like an evil cash grab. If you can release it 5 days early for some people, why not all people? (answer: so we can soak those who have too much money)

They'll get some people on FOMO and it costs them nothing to grant 5 day access. Always worth a shot to have nowadays.

It would have to review extremely well for me to even consider it and be on a key site for much less than $90.

I just won't support this pricing/distribution model at any discount. This kinda crap needs to go the way of the dodo.

it's not that it's $20 for early access, it's that it's $20 for regular release access and everyone else has to wait. Business 101, never tell your customers what they're NOT getting, reword it to tell them what they ARE getting!

Honestly worked wonders for Civ 7. it gave more people a chance to jump ship. It's a mining canary, a red flag if you will for sure. No good game needs to pull this crap, consider that.

...yeah, I think Take-Two killed the golden goose on that one. That's gonna take some glowup to get out of.

it worked for Civ 7, it worked for Diablo IV, It worked for Smite 2, It worked for Dragon ball Z Sparking Zero, Worked for Starfield and it will work here. Game companies are going to do it because it is literally free money! At the end of the day, if i worked for a company where how much money a game makes is the factor of how much money i make, i'd do it. Call it scummy, call it evil. But don't act like it isn't free money.
I dislike it too and they do it with every release now and with the worst times. Civ 7 early access started thursday and get the whole weekend. Main release was a Monday where most of have lives, work, families and limited time so really have to wait until the weekend anyways.

But people are willing to do it so it is what it is. If it helps fund future Civ games so be it. Dont hate the player, hate the game.

Um, friendly reminder that Take-Two Interactive, one of the largest gaming companies on the planet, owns Firaxis Games outright.

Trust me. They're not hurting for money. What they're hurting for are good games ideas. Have you seen Civ VII's reviews?

Till consumers stop pre-ordering trash like that the industry will keep on doing it and come up with more scummy pre-order bonuses that are even worse.

Some are worth a preorder. I'll preorder any Armored Core game. VI was excellent and ran very well out of the box.

Quality work deserves patronage. Shoddy work does not.

Pay extra to play our game a week before others, pay full price for a game filled with bugs, glitches and various other issues... or wait a year and buy it for 75% off with the majority of the bugs fixed, technical stability and extra content.

Why do people pay for day 1 games again?

I think there needs to be litigation just like what happened to loot boxes. The game is finished and they are just cashing in for zero effort.
