But I'll give it a chance. I think there may be a game under here worth looking at.
Anyways, I think the bright palette can be good or bad. It can add to the fantasy, old school, and charm of the game for some. If overdone, it can be a bit cheesy to others.
Veilguard IS a fine game, not sure if you were comparing and like it better or worse. But again, I don't know if you have played Avowed yet... so...
Avowed is getting pre-criticised just like Veilguard in similar ways.
I'm with y'all. I like having color in my games. I'm replaying Pillars 1 right now, and one of the first things I noticed is how brown and gray and dirty looking everything is compared to my last playthrough of Deadfire, which was vibrant and colorful and varied.
Yup veilguard is ok. It gets too much hate. Sure,I liked da3 and 1 more, but veilguard isn't as bad as the online discussion would make it seem.
is it exhausting to pretend to be victimized by shadowy cabals all the time?
absolutely hilarious.
Your critique is way off the mark. The art style of this game is worlds apart from the games you're desperately trying to connect it to. Before you PP in your panties, realize that this game is part of the Pillars of Eternity Universe and features an art style inspired by CRPGs from the 90s and early 2000s
Poor political decisions often lead to misguided opinions. If you want to be taken seriously, educate yourself. And if humor is your goal, you'll need to put in more effort.
The issue isnt colour in games, I dont believe I said that, in fact fantasy should have lots of colour.
HOWEVER
It has been my observation that this particular palette (purples and pinks contrasted with greens and blues) seems to be on a particular type of corporatised game.
Its kind of like the yellow paint trope, or red being a danger colour, or the corporate art style that looks trash, etc, and this palette is in lots of games that suck in every metric.
When you look through the screenshots and trailers this scheme jumps out the most in many shots.
However, not a fan of a main person involved in this game saying they hate gamers, so that's kinda concerning overall.
