So do you have problems with FoW or actual loot scattered in the world? 'cause those are different.
Imo, FoW is implemented just fine, it shows very well which areas I visited and cleared and which areas or parts of areas I overlooked.
As for loot - yep, I mentioned it before in another topic that the amount of stuff they shoved in every nook and cranny is killing me, I end up spending 95% of time climbing roofs and rocks and swimming in ponds searching for loot and like 5% doing everything else (quests, fighting enemies etc.).
This is a good explanation. It's cause and effect. I find the FoW annoying, but only because the loot is so scattered that I have to worry about it to find the loot.
Same! My biggest complaint so far though is that the rewards for exploring are pretty underwhelming. It's annoying constantly being at the ragged edge resource wise, just non-stop. Would be great if they buffed the rewards from the out of way chests and such to better reward you for exploration. (Just ignore that I'm 30+ hours in just to finish the first map.........)
The rewards are not underwhelming at all, that's why I feel pressured to search everything. Because there is a chunk of adra in this box in the water, a ring in that secret room, loot worth several hundred coins on that roof, a paradisian ladder in that corner behind a bush, a unique armor in a half-buried chest, that rare magran mushroom on top of some rocks you need to climb etc.
As a person who was trying to maximize weapon upgrades asap, I was struggling with both resources and money, there were times when I was financially broke, so every coin felt important.
If anything, I kinda wish there was none of that loot anywhere, except in obvious places (e.g. you defeat a boss, loot a key off his body and can now use it to open a chest that this boss was guardiang).
But that essentially just helps make my same point. Unless you're only following a single, specific path and sticking to it (which I assume is why the other guy has excess), it's a struggle to find enough to max upgrades until you clear most of the map. My main gripe honestly is just the lack of coins more than anything, since buying items outright is stupid expensive, which means it's cheaper to upgrade to them. But then you run into not finding enough materials at the vendors, which seem to have spotty refresh times, at best. I'm not not gonna comment on the consumables situation, since that's an old meme at this point. It would just be nice to actually have enough coin going into new areas to actually buy a something! It feels like the item price spikes are just rough, so the new vendors are functionally useless until you've cleared at least half the new map, at which point there's nothing to buy from them cause you've crafted/upgraded your gear anyways.
I get that it would be nice to have it all centralized, but that would also negate like 90% of the map to travel around lol. I guarantee you can clear the game without needing to find most of the random loot.
