The game ran for 5 whole ass minutes, ive reinstalled it 3 or 4 different times. on different SSD's, And its just refusing to do anything but crash..

made a tech support post 10+ hours ago, nothing but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ crickets. i should have looked first at the problems instead of just buying, cant trust any of the big studio's these days. so many games are bad.

and before you spout about "you probably dont have a good computer" i do..
Im running a Core i9 13900k (flashed bios to correct microcoding issues)
32gigs Gskill ripjaws 5200mhz ram.
a 4080 of all things, (mind you not a 4080 super or anything. just a standard 4080.)

The game on first install ran fine, broke after i tried to install some nexus mods, and it refuses to work since.
I mean you just stated that the mods broke your game, then how about removing the mods and trying again? If the game works fine then the mod is breaking the game.

I run this game just fine on my PC ryzen 5900x+3080

And my steam deck can run it natively with low settings and FSR just fine too (Albeit with the occasional low 20 dip)

Sounds like user error.

User error on a fresh install? Doubt it. I freshly installed, with no mods. and all i get is "fatal error"

To boot, ive even verified files as well. and no file corruption..
got one last trick, and then its refund button

Do you genuinely believe, when you are the only one posting here about a fatal error with a 4080 and 13th gen intel, that you honestly are not experiencing user error?

Why would it be user error?

Steam is simple as hell, ive never had this level of errors a google couldnt fix if it was user error.

Click download, let it download, hit play. game should run fine provided your system requirements are sufficent enough to run a game no?

you tell me why its user error. ive verified files, re downloaded, reinstalled. and suddenly steam doesnt seem to see that i have 800gb free on one of my ssd's

I am not sure if you expect a solution, but I suppose if more people post about this problem, it is probably not. We will see

Does the game not start at all or does it only crash when you load your save? Broken save file is something that can definitely happen if you save a game with mods installed and then load the game without those mods.
Another $3k+ Rig bites the dust! Because the majority of the player base can afford it? Why would any business focus on a minority group of players when all the cash flow will come from players with min to recommended specs.

to be fair, its all over the "tech support" thread, im just extremely aggravated that i spent good money on a game ive had to install 4 times now. just to *try* to get it to run. if it came with an error code i could just look it up, see about a fix.

Problem is on launch all i get is "fatal error" about ue-alabama or whatever its called. i never had this problem on original install, Its only happened on subsequent installs..

I have a Ryzen 7 3700, 32GB RAM and a 12GB 4070 Super. Aside from the odd crashing on exit, I didn't experience any problems so far.

ah, finally someone asking the problem,

Originally on first install the game ran fine, i tried to use the nexus reshade, But it broke the game originally, then subsequently it had diskwrite errors all night, untill i fixed that problem, and eventually reinstalled when i went to bed.
Checked in the morning before work because i wanted to just play standard avowed, without mods (using nexus mods) and upon launch i get the splash screen photo, screen goes black like its loading game. then gets "fatal error" im trying to move it back to the original SSD it worked on last night now that ive fixed that one, so its kind of a last-last-last resort. but the game takes two hours to download.

I couldnt afford the 3k rig either, But being 32 and working full time, i saved for two years to afford a new rig.

prior to my 3k rig i was using an i7 5820k/gtx1070. I aint rich man i saved for ages to build this thing.
How did you remove those nexus mods you improperly installed?

And for that matter, how did you install them in the first place?

It sounds like the mods are the issue.

Damn :(It was worth a try :( Although I already thought that it wasn't a corrupt save file because there probably aren't any very complex mods for this Game. You could try manually deleting the data under AppData\Local\Alabama\Saved and then reinstalling the game, but I doubt that will help.
