I don't think he would want to go back after he was fired over false accusations that he had to use a lawsuit to disprove.

I don't think he'd fit with current Obsidian (or even want to work there). I think the studio is too far gone at this point.

But I'd love to play another Chris Avellone game. Guy is a legend. Obsidian has no writers in his class.

He is done with Obsidian. I would rather he truly focus on what he is doing now and keep contributing to crpg games like pathfinder, which he did.

Old Obsidian is gone, it's not coming back. There will not be another New Vegas or Alpha Protocol. The Upside is that there won't be another Dungeon Siege 3, and that the old Obsidian skin suit fell off before people even bought this latest product. Strange as it may sound, That Matt Hansen guy helped a lot of people avoid a bullet.

Good to know. Planescape Torment is an amazing game so if there' an enhanced edition we'll need to check it out. Haven't heard of Weird West before so now I can look into it.

the mental gymnastics by you people is mind boggling. i dont even support avowed (on record saying its not worth 70$ and ppl should wait for it to be on sale or try it for free on gamepass), but the gaslighting, moving goalposts, and just straight up bullshittery coming from ppl like OP is hilarious. like as if 1 narrative designer can be credited for the entirety of why new vegas was a great game.
