This Game is a Gem, I Think it Deserves Praise

I feel like we are too wrapped up in ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to see Avowed for what it is, a really solid game. The gaming landscape is rife with live service schlock riddled with micro transactions and predatory practices. This game just presents itself to you and asks that you give it a chance. The only major crime is that it is way overpriced. It delivers a decent story, fun game-play, and a fairly solid experience throughout. It doesn't demand your time nor any further investment, outside of the obligatory "deluxe edition" (don't buy that.) Sure, it can be a bit simplistic. But the game is *good*. I am so tired of mediocre = bad when it just means "good, but not great." And that is okay. I think the game is great, a good 8.5 from me. However, that is personal opinion and bias.

I just think it is being unfairly mistreated. We need to uplift more games that give us complete experiences day one. Not to say you should play a game you don't like, but these games are a dying breed. Corporate greed is slowly winning in gaming, and it is not getting any better. And we even saw with Veilguard they did not judge it's failure based on its *quality,* but on it not being a live-service game.

Idk, the gaming landscape is just sad. Can we just all get along? The only enemy we have is the corporate executives who want to take our hobby away from us. And it is not pronouns, "wokeness", or lack-thereof. It is just pure greed.

As I said, if the game isn't for you. That is okay. Go take a look a the indie scene! Uplift indie devs and smaller studios that still make things you enjoy. Because, as it stands, I am unsure what the future holds if we don't.

I'm unsure why you have to bring needless negativity to something you don't enjoy. Criticism is fine, but this is not constructive. It is pointless anger. Direct that towards something meaningful.

gaming itself is not meaningfull, its a waste of time, you spending time on a game wont help you in any way shape of form. if you think its helping you personally, then you should seek profressional help. if you want to do something meaningfull step away from your computer and engage with the real world, do something for your body, a healthy body has a healthy mind.

Gaming has helped me a lot and my therapist actually recommends it as hobbies tend to help with mental health. I also work out every day after work as that does help my overall energy levels. I think you do need to do some introspection. Making alt accounts to troll on forums is actually a very unhealthy habit. I just wanted to post about something I liked. And give my thoughts on it. You could've said something of substance like, "well I don't think it deserves any praise for x y z." But you did not. You parade as a caricature of a group of people you don't seem to like very much. I hope you find happiness one day.

You have to sort through the landfill of filthy posts to find anything pleasant that was said about this game and the developers.

It was Andromeda that started this childish war. Hanging video games in the village square to jeering crowds of maniacs. Unwarranted hatred, multiplied by a million.

It reminds me of the Salem witch trials. She's not a witch, but let's hang her anyway with all of the rest.

Years later we realize that none of those girls were possessed by Satan.

this is an open space for a community, different oppinions will clash, some more serious than others, i pretty much pointed out that this toxic positivity is part of the problem, if you think me using an alt account devalues my opinion, than you should really reconsider how you treat others. im here for entertainment what are you doing here ? what is your gameplan ? do you just want an echo chamber ? why do you engage with a troll account, if you dont value their opinions, you sir are a hypocrite.

I think once we have reached the end of the ouroboros, we will suddenly value the "mid" games more highly. Which is just the unfortunate reality we live in.
