Like Good Old Times - let's enjoy together
Well, im quite old now, i must admitt i do not get all that "woke" or "anti-woke" disscusions.
What i get is that i still love gaming. Especially roleplaying games.
I know that Obsidian is left by many famous people last years but still they managed to release some interesting games and worthy of time rpgs - Outer Worlds with DLCs and incoming OW 2 are the examples.
I just wanna wish all of You great time at the release, and to all early backers of the title many happy hours at this thursday.
Im very happy that despite the age, i still find ways to ejnoy new titles and not drop this hobby. Im glad that we are given keys to Eora universe one more time, and who knows maybe in the future someone will be bold and brave enough to give us fully open world , 1st person roleplaying game in this universe.
I loved both Pillars and to say more i loved Tyranny also from Obsidian. They are very talented Devs still , and i wish Carrie Patel and her team all the best with release of the Avowed.

My short first impression review dedicated to all fans of Pillars and Eora universe:

First of all im happy that we are able to reenter Eora once again.
And what style it has! Seeing all these details known from both Pillars games now in 3d is a great feeling.
First i must say im playing on rather strong cpu and gpu be it AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D 16-Core Processor 4.20 GHz, and AMD Radeon 7900xtx 24gb vram plus 96gb of fast ram and fast ssd. Im on all epic, including ray tracing and frames locked in hardware drivers to 60 as always to save energy. Game keeping 60 fps all the time and looks splendid.
What strikes me at first is fantastic and very high quality audio and video art direction. It is living Eora under your feets and in front of your eyes. All that sunsets, nights , mornings are just beautiful.
Im playing only for 3 hours right now but i reached first big city after rather long prologue and my god this game is really big. I just took some side quests and discovered some hidden gems. I met and have first companion KAI which is voiced by the same actor as Garrus in Mass Effect trilogy, dat nice.
Im on my first big main quest's task and will raport later but for now im impressed. There is large ammount of lore even hidden one in the prologue-tutorial. I even meet parents of one girl from Pillars of Eternity standing in the port of Paradis, what a cool dialoge it was.
I already can tell that fights are okay too, you can evolve your player as in Elder Scrolls games , nothing can stop You from being warrior that use grimories to cast various spells etc.
First of all do not listen to negative reviews but try the game by yourself, im gaming since late 80's and i judge that this game is and will be good.
I was risen on games like first fallouts, betrayal at krondor or might&magic, first elder scrolls and many more cult classics, i can say when we have good or bad roleplaying game, and this is good roleplaying game.
If You don't trust me try the game by yourself im quite busy now becouse last time i playing Kingdom Come 2 , Stalker 2 and now this gem, not counting that i started both PIllars of Eternity once again and still have some quests to do in Rogue Trader from Owlcat. I will be back with more details soon and will update this post. For now im just back to Eora. Obsidian did it again and gives us classic once again.

It's only 12 hours or something away :) Yay!
Game Pass isn't until launch day, so please jump back in here and let us know how it runs and your initial (non-spoiler) thoughts!
Sure thing, i will play for few hours and return back here and post initial impressions spoiler free on main post as a update.
But im not objective as i like almost every rpg game and i simply love Pillars of Eternity setting :) .
So far what i learned from reviews on Youtube there is no level scaling so its great news already.
Only 5 hours to go :)

Soon, so many places to see, so many treasures to find, so many fire to ball ^^
Yeah i saw some leaked material from early review on Youtube and locations looks splendid.
From 15:00 CET , so in nearly 20 minutes embargo for official reviews will be out. Im very interested in them and will gladly read and watch a few.

I think people are more upset about the art manager's racist comments.

And Obsidian's silence on the matter.
Outrage culture isn't for me. In either case.
So... first reviews are on, the overall score from many sites is around 80 in scale to 100.
So it is good, can't wait to check by myself today at the evening.
I wish You all a good game and many hours in of fun, and later of course Avowed 2 much bigger and better with plenty of open, fantastic Eora world to explore.
Im so happy ! I just read in very long review that designers of Avowed slightly lied to the public about game lenght and size, becouse in real world, Avowed is very big and offers over 30 hours of main quest at ease. Go Obsidian make part 2 already :) im so happy i had a good feelings about it, can't wait to start.
^Link to that review?
