Will this game have mods?
Like skyrim, will there be mods and what not? Ive played normal, and heavy modded skyrim packs, and they are absolutely the best fun i've had ever. Lorerim 2/3.0 was amazing! So please let it be so... Same with cyberpunk2077.

There is literally no way to know.

If it's anything like The Outer Worlds, I wouldn't expect Skyrim-levels of mods.
What game engine is this on? That'll determine how moddable it'll be

According to google, Unreal Engine 5.3, according to the internet, it depends on the how well the devs tool kit provided is. I dont really know what any of this means.

I highly doubt they're going to release an SDK for this. Modding will be on par with Outer Worlds must likely.

Pretty much all games (excluding mmos to a point) can/will be/are modded. It largely comes down to what engine the game is made on, as others have mentioned. It also depends which mod authors take an interest in the game and modding it. I expect this to get mods, tho I wouldn’t expect anything complex or deep.

Thats a shame, because skyrim modding is huge with creative freedom and enjoyment. 10.7 Billion mod downloads over the course of Bethesda games, its amazing! So I really hope they lean into modding, its the reason skyrim is still so amazing even today after like 10+ years.

Skyrim had a lot of support for modding from Bethesda. Bethesda is a lot of things, but they do an outstanding job of supporting their modding community. I can’t think of any other studio that supports their modding community like Bethesda does

Unreal 5 so it's not going to be easy, but it won't matter unless there is interest ala how no one cares to mod Starfield.

LOL don't hear any Bethesda game modders hear you say this or they will literally throw you off a cliff.

Yeah... starfield for sure dropped the ball pretty hard, I still enjoyed it a little, but it was very underwelming...

Unreal games are easier to mod than most games with custom engines. The only games easier to mod are those few that the developer makes custom mod tools and releases them. (like Skyrim and many Bethesda games) But that's not the standard and special mod tools aren't required to make mods.

Unreal games can be modded using branches in Unreal Editor.

how no one cares to mod Starfield.

There are more than 10000 mods on Nexus alone for Starfield and more on other sites.

Between these two statements you've made it seems like you really don't know what you're talking about.

This is why I said unreal 5 specifically, as it specifically has a lot of issues with modding especially since it changes a lot and has its own quirks.

Raw number of mods is a common mistake a lot of people make when talking about mods, and is commonly ridiculed as a sign of ignorance. The huge swathe of those mods are useless small adjusments anyone can make in 6 seconds, but they all count on Nexus. It's common for games that have basic modding tools since they make it easy to make minor changes with no effort.

When speaking about interest in modding scenes, people generally talk about actual mods, the increased capabilities modders add, and the reach these mods can attain in what they can do. Hence you get modding communities like Rimworld or Skyrim.

So ironic statement, lmao. Do me a favor and sit down. Don't bother replying, I've heard enough I really don't care what you say to try and backpedal. Just be humble about it lmao.

I make mods for Starfield, and it's pretty dead. The 10k mods arguments is invalid because most of the mods are small tweaks and translations. There's a few goodies in there but nothing really game changing. The 10000th mod was literally a translation patch for one of my mods.

Yeah. The Starfield mod scene has mostly dried up because there just isn't that interesting of a base to build from.
