If you consider how many games you can purchase with 90 euro Avowed really need to be the next Skyrim to compensate.
If the main storyline is really that short it may be a problem.
My only advice is not to preorder and wait for players review.
The price of this is playing 2 days later than the others but at least you know what you are doing.
The game director has stated the main game is 15 hours long. This could be good or bad, the OP's view that length is the driving factor in value for money is flawed and I'd rather play something good for 15 hours than something bad for 100.
Unfortunately, after Outer Worlds mediocrity in this regard, I'm not expecting more than a one time 30-40 hour romp because all the reacticity in the world won't matter if the game and world is boring.
There is no official information about the game's duration, even though it is a 15-hour campaign, games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim also have a campaign with this duration, what extends the game's duration are secondary missions. Force Gaming in its preview of Avowed commented that it spent almost 20 hours exploring the entire first area and it was still not 100% released.
It's an obsidian rpg, side quests will provide much more content than the main quests.
So tbh. This is exactly the lenght it should be.
There is a reason why it is so overpriced here. MS wants to advice here, but wants you to go sub to gamepass for a month (in hope that you keep subbing) that is what the game is for..
If you do buy it here, you pay a hefty premium.
