Avowed
15 hours is too short for a game like this
This is The Outer Worlds all over again. Great core, ruined by small zones and a too short campaign. TOW felt like it was just getting started when it ended. Fallout style games just don't work with this formula. $70 lol Not being a total hater tho, after a few years I'll buy "the complete edition" after all the DLC drops when it actually feels a like a full game

ps sorry for clogging up your gender wars board with a game post

This game is 90 euro it mean the player will expect 90 euro of value.

If you consider how many games you can purchase with 90 euro Avowed really need to be the next Skyrim to compensate.

If the main storyline is really that short it may be a problem.

My only advice is not to preorder and wait for players review.
The price of this is playing 2 days later than the others but at least you know what you are doing.

I wouldn't be so sure that there will be DLC for this.

everyone will play this on gamepass, it's fine

where did you get it being 15 hours from? Seen quite a few different youtubers say that the first area alone takes 8 - 10 hours so I don't really see how that adds up.

It might be 15 hours if you rush the main questline, but that seems like it'd be leaving most of the content on the table in a game like this.

The game director has stated the main game is 15 hours long. This could be good or bad, the OP's view that length is the driving factor in value for money is flawed and I'd rather play something good for 15 hours than something bad for 100.
I think this is fine if there's replay value. Shorter RPGs tend to benefit from not spreading itself thin with better reacticity that incentivizes players seeing different choices unfold on separate playthroughs (Alpha Protocol).

Unfortunately, after Outer Worlds mediocrity in this regard, I'm not expecting more than a one time 30-40 hour romp because all the reacticity in the world won't matter if the game and world is boring.

There is no official information about the game's duration, even though it is a 15-hour campaign, games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim also have a campaign with this duration, what extends the game's duration are secondary missions. Force Gaming in its preview of Avowed commented that it spent almost 20 hours exploring the entire first area and it was still not 100% released.
Well they spent most of their time with DEI, sending out vile racist tweets and creating the most ugly, pathetic NPCs possible. How did you expect them to create more than 15 hours of content?
should be 1 hour per dollar paid

The main quest line, not the main game. This is not call of duty son.
It's an obsidian rpg, side quests will provide much more content than the main quests.
As an extreme case the main story for Oblivion is like...10 hours long? Maybe?
This is a filler game for Gamepass.
So tbh. This is exactly the lenght it should be.

There is a reason why it is so overpriced here. MS wants to advice here, but wants you to go sub to gamepass for a month (in hope that you keep subbing) that is what the game is for..
If you do buy it here, you pay a hefty premium.

I think it's supposed to be 20-25 hours. I'm expecting it will take me considerably longer to do because Obsidian is placing emphasis on verticality and exploration.
