Avowed is NOT a massive open world

The video gives you way more insight than the comment you had made so yes it's a news.
so disappointing
Good news, 99% of open worlds games dont know how to fill the map with interesting things to do. From what we have seen there is way more verticality than in The Outer World wich was my main problem with it.

No, it's not news to anyone who has been following anything on this game

Why?
open worlds suck *ss, are usually poorly designed, and often an indication of a buzz-word slop
.. oh, I'm sorry there I forgot you were fighting "the fight" against avowed
carry on

Good
Open World Games are generally disappointing because most of the world is empty or dotted with copy/paste caves.

Honestly! The last truly good open world game I played was Red Dead Redemption 2. Every bit of the map was something interesting and different. Even the swamps!
also
thanks for the video OP
I'm starving for some new avowed vids
Yeah, I was hoping for the promised "skyrim" like experience. But it seems like they had to dial that way back in order to get the game out.
Definitely do not mind that. I've been playing a bunch of Stalker 2, and it's really reminded me why giant open-world games aren't all they're cracked up to be.

Stalker 2 is anything but empty. Sadly all that detail is butched by the broken spawns and AI
I'm a big fan of open world games personally, but I think it's the kind of thing that's definitely easier to screw up than get right, and if the game doesn't have a AAA development budget to begin with it's really for the best they don't treat it like one.

counterpoint: Green Hell!
Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2 were not open worlds either. Nor was The Outer Worlds. This is not an issue. Open worlds are fine, hub based RPGs are also fine. At least it's not 90% procedural generation :steambored:
