I can't help but laugh when reading these forums, almost every single video game that comes out is somehow, "woke" and the companies behind it are claimed by these people to soon be going broke for over a decade. The people who make these claims don't buy or play new video games, all they do is talk about how terrible video games have become now.

This is going to be just like Dragon Age: The Veilguard. It'll be review bombed, the forums will be targeted by mass-harassment from people trolling and guess what? It'll do just fine.

Then all of these same people will move onto the next game and forget all about this one.

Remember when everyone said that the original Life is Strange was woke and they would go broke in a few months and the studio would be closed? Guess what never happened? Just like with Disney, Marvel, and all of these video game studios. Nothing ever happens to them.

All this is a attempt to get views on their YouTube channels and farm money from outrage.
These video games will just keep releasing and everything they hate will become common.

You can either adapt, or be self limited to only play video games that release before 2011.

As someone who actually worked in the gaming industry, I can tell you wholeheartedly that these people are in the minority and are more than happy to lose these customers.

There's no place for toxicity and hatred in gaming communities, they are for everyone.

The fact BioWare still has not released sales speaks volumes. Investors want to know if the product their money went into is going to have a ROI. Not announcing sales numbers is never a positive. Especially when the trend is to announce them.

EA actually did. It sold around 1.5 million when EA wanted 3 million.

1.5 million isn't terrible sales for most games but the long development time certainly means it wasn't very profitable (if profitable at all.)

Calling Deck Nine the developer of Life is Strange is only half true at best.

The didn't develop Life is Strange or Life is Strange 2, they only developed all the spinoffs that keep getting made endlessly.

Every other one has failed because it just can't capture the first game. Heck the original studio couldn't with LiS 2.

The first game just was lightning in a bottle. Many such cases in the game industry.

I think True Colors maybe sold okay, and LiS2 did.

But yeah just as anecdotal evidence I really liked the first and I only own it and Before the Storm. Tried the free beginning of 2 but it just didn't grab me.

I keep buying Dontnods more action oriented games though. Banishers is pretty good.

Yeah Banishers felt like it really cleaned up a lot of the issues Vampyr had. I don't think it sold as well because the setting and themes were a bit too unusual though. Less built in audience than Vampyr
