Also i'd rather not give money to a game whose director is literally a racist bigot. that's going to show in the product.
Yea, how well did that legacy work out for Bioware?.. Dude, face reality the extremely talented people who made the games your talking about no longer work at these studios. They are living off stolen valour and nostalgia alone.
Also, its not even the dumb pronouns thing which caused me to boycott Avowed and Obsidian, its the multiple leaked posts of mentally unwell racists Obsidian hire these days. Why would want to buy a product from people who openly encourage racist behaviour at their workplace, on their company wide chat channels... If I posted even half of what these pronoun freaks did, I would be fired from my job. But clearly senior management at Obsidian are perfectly fine with openly toxic and racist behaviour at their studio.
I flat out oppose all forms of discriminatory hiring practices, which in may countries is flat out illegal. Merit alone should always be the only criteria which matters when hiring people for a job and not their skin colour, genitals or choice of sexual partner ffs. And yet, Matt Handsen who is in a senior leadership role at Obsidian blatantly admitted to encouraging this practice at Obsidian... Again, I refuse to give my money to racists.
Stop making excuses for bigots all because you like the games people have not worked at that studio for years helped create... Bioware used to be an excellent studio, now its a laughing stock who make creatively bankrupt garbage. So far, I have seen all of the same warning signs I saw with Bioware, at Obsidian.

Alright. I'll respect the studio and give them the benefit of the doubt. As in, this game is a one time mistake and their next game won't follow suit. Maybe they'll make a Stick of Truth 2. Or Alpha Protocol 2.
Now if bacon is not your thing, then sure that's a very logical reason why you wouldn't eat it.
But being asked whether or not you want to put lipstick on it, with you having the agency to say no, is just a silly reason to refuse the bacon, no matter how you slice it (or not).
To me a game can say male or female, body type 1 or body type 2. I will pick whichever I want to pick and be done with it. If the game says body type 2 for a body that looks like a woman's body, I will pick that and still know that the character I made is fenale, because that's my intention. I will also pick she/her. Nobody has taken away the fact that the character is a female character for me.
I'm not so insecure that I feel my view on that particular character I made has been suppressed by the LGBT community. That's you living in a fantasy world imagining a threat that doesn't exist.
We used to preorder back in the day because it guaranteed a decent physical copy plus decent manual. Besides in some of our countries, if you didn't preorder, it could never come to the shops. These days the only reason to pre-order is if you really want the ingame goodies they offer, other than that there's no point to it. Unless you wanna preorder and then shout FIRST! in the forums, who am I to judge.
