Also Gollum took out the development arm of Daedlic
But other studios have survived some incredible flops - Babylon's Fall comes to mind
you really think so ?
because it seems like they never learned by their mistakes
I'm still holding out hope the game is actually good, but considering what happened to Tango games, even a blowout success doesn't mean they're safe.
We'll see. The first game wasn't actually all that popular and is widely remembered as mediocre with lots of issues and pretty terrible writing. Not bad, just bland. People were shocked it even got a sequel.
They'd have to literally improve everything universally for it to get people excited and we just don't know.
Just to be clear, the studio that made Fallout New Vegas which was their last great game is not the same as the skinsuit that's excreting out Awoked.
Seriously though did anyone? I've been meaning to buy it someday it's apparently actually a unique and historical passion project that got good reviews.
So I legitimately assume nobody played it lol
Basically people love to complain that games aren't original but when everyone buys Outer Worlds and nobody buys Pentiment... what are developers supposed to conclude
I didn't know it existed. Had a look and it's a "story rich" side scroller. That's a niche within a niche, that's why nobody played it.
They should have done a better job with Outer Worlds which was as tedious as Starfield, then they'd have a better reputation.
the problem with Fallout NV for me is that it was bound by the engine to have the same gameplay (i.e. the janky *ss movement, shooting etc) as F3, which is just terrible IMO.
Hard to say. Obsidian has multiple projects in the oven and stuff like Grounds have been hits.
