Avowed
"Premium Skins pack" - what does that mean
As a little distraction to your usual woke vs anti-woke whatnot happening here, i'd like you to focus on a potential actual apolitical issue for this game.

In the premium edition, there is 2 skins for our companion.

What does that mean for an RPG with equipment such as Avowed ? Does that mean it actually gives you pieces of equipment for companions from the get go ? Or some sort of special transmog versions ?

Because if it's skin as we can see in other games, that would imply we can't personalize companions equipment. It would be quite a kick in the RPG-side balls of the game.

Do we have more information on this ?

Anything not answering this, please use one of the trillions existing threads :)

it means skins, cosmetics

You already bought the game, so you will see for yourself on release. Thread creation for the sake of thread creation I take it.

I can browse the store page without buying the game.

If you bothered read more than the title, there is implication on this cosmetic feature for the gameplay. You are right tho saying that we will know when the game is out but some interview or video i missed might have give an hint on this.

I realize that discussing gameplay is not really a trend here but for some of us, it does matter still.

You got me curious and I went on the store page to try and figure it out but I can only give a guess, the information is kinda vague on the store page:

When it says "skin", it's 99.999999999999999999999999% chance (ChatGPT confirmed stat, trust me bro) that it's just... A skin, no equipment.

I wouldn't say that it automatically means that you can't personalise your buddies though; maybe you unlock more skins as you play through? Maybe they have a skill tree? Maybe you CAN give them equipment but it won't "show" on their model? Maybe you can give them equipment and it WILL show on their model (thus making the skins a bit pointless I guess)?

A lot of "maybes" basically, but because the game is kinda expensive, I'd at least HOPE that there's a lot of content related to the buddies (equipment, skill trees, skins, etc. like, all of it).

That would have been my expectations too (to be able to equip your companions), The outer worlds allow it and seems to be the most comparable game in term of scope.

You have mouse icon to the right of your name indicating that you bought the game. Everybody can see you bought.

If they follow the acceptable trend normally it is some started equipment or at the very least some skins. I dont judge them on this, this is pretty common practice to ask diehard fans to give additional support to the game. Even game like dark souls 2 did this or even games like pathfinder.

Most people here dont own the game but if I want to be honest i want to know everyone honest review. I dont trust this game not a single bit but I hope they prove me wrong.

Cutting on the RPG content on a licence deeply rooted in the RPG family would be a really weird move. While it's a spin off, it's still revendicates its RPG side and the studio built its reputation on RPGs.

And for the practice, it's probably publisher requirements. My question is more on the wording they used and what it meant for the gameplay. There is games that give pre-order/premium edition equipment bonus as well, but it's never mentioned as skin, but as equipment.
The semantic here can have a lot of implications.

Why? Premium edition includes such a brargain as 5 day exclusive access. You should buy it to help restricting access for others with standard edition.
Condescending ? Yes, definitely. 2 answers and 2 times he misinterpret or ignore what i'm saying, effectively trying to shut my question down instead of adding something to the discussion, i ain't gonna be all nice and respectful. As far as i'm concerned, that is the childish behavior there, hence also why the tone is different when answering to you.
What would have been childish of me is to tell him to leave the discussion and shut him down, instead i still try to get him to read what i say so he can contribute to the discussion, but i don't care enough anymore to debate further about this.

I am not thrashing the game btw, i express genuine concerns about it and they seems legitimate to me (much more at least that what we usually see around on this forum) and was looking for info that would potentially answer to them in a positive way. If i had strong opinions about it before it even release, i'd have cancelled my pre order already.

I'd say i'm disappointed too but everyone is so sensitive since the "Happening" i didn't have too much expectations on my side. Regardless, still the longest discussion i managed to have about the game since a month :) good enough.

I do have strong opinions about pay walled early release, but that's my own and everyone is entitled to use their money as they please.

I don't get the second part. Some sarcasm there but lacking context to get the joke.

This is not sarcasm, I am completely seriously suggesting you to buy premium edition in order to normalise restricting access for normal editions.

Ofc, who wouldn't seriously endorse predatory practice in the video game industry after all ?

Anyway i guess this is as far as this discussion will get concerning the original question

I am not supporter of predatory practices, but "Premium Skins pack" is "Premium Skins pack"
