The website where you can check to see if games can be played on your machine told me my video card and RAM wasnt enough.

No, it doesn't look like you would be able to play the game natively.
There might be a solution though depending on your location.
Recently I saw an announcement that Avowed is going to be added to GeForce Now cloud gaming platform.
If GeForce Now is available in your country, you can consider playing it via geForce Now.
Obviously it's a paid subscription service but it will come at a fraction of the cost you would have to pay for the upgrade.
