* Dismantle any mundane items (instead of selling them)
* ONLY upgrade unique items, and make sure it is one you like a lot.
As long as you don't waste mats on mundane upgrades, you should have a decent chunk of mats to work with for unique upgrades.
Was dismantling once I found I had more money than I knew what to do with.
May hold off on using adra for now as I don't know if I really love any of my equipment just yet.
And it of course helps to stick to one thing because the upgrade materials are kinda rare. They aren't actually rare at all if you explore the whole map, but I know that everyone will do that.
Also if you have lots of money and aren't using uniques for something, it's probably cheaper and easier to buy a purple wand for example rather than going through all the steps to upgrade from blue. Upgrading uses money as well
Good advice on just buying higher rated gear. Will take that into account.
The Greater Elements one lets you pop off fireballs blizards and bouncy lightning balls and it gets really fast and cheap when you get supreme upgrades for it. It's worth it.
Weapon upgrades are also useful, but I would save them for unique weapons. Don't worry, you'll find adra and can buy it at some places.
You're consistently fed new tiers of upgrade mats that can be broken down and repurposed for any tier below them as you progress through the game.
Vendors restock on a lot of mats as well if you buy them out.
So don't go ham blowing all of your mats on everything you come across, but definitely stay current with your load out.
