I just wish I could dismiss companions...
Or better yet get the option to never recruit them or at the very least tell them to shut the ♥♥♥♥ up.

I dont need to hear "Another glorious victory" every time I kill a spider or some inane quip about whatever quest I'm on. It's especially bad when they point out some small detail in the environment before you even notice them, killing the sense of discovery.

The tutorial guy drove me insane, pointing out a secret door that could have been a cool discovery you find using environmental ques like the blood stain/drag mark disappearing into the wall nearby and I hoped that would be the last mandatory hand holding NPC I have forced upon me. But alas. Here comes Kai. Some random bum I have no reason to trust other than the dubious word of some militia captain who just wished for my death in front of me.

Cant even tell him I dont want his help. He just follows you and starts talking bollocks about everything

I can see this getting annoying pretty quick, Can you just send him to camp to wait, like in BG3?

Well thats something at least.

Just have to suffer through to that point as fast as I can.

All I want is to walk around and look at ♥♥♥♥ without some gormless twit chiming in with pointless crap that doesnt even make sense.

"Another victory. But who's counting?" No one. Not even you Kai. This line makes no sense. The word "another" isnt a numerical value you ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiot shut the ♥♥♥♥ up I didnt even want you here.

♥♥♥♥.

Yeah I'd like to know too.

While Kai is the current target of my ire with his complete inability to shut up I doubt that any other companion will shut up for much longer either
I came to see if there was a way to dismiss them, I don’t mind a companion but stfu and let me play! It’s hard to immerse yourself in to the world and soak in the world, which looks and sounds very nice, then your hear “did you know bla bla bla”, no Kai I didn’t know and I don’t care

I always prefer being alone and helpless in a cruel world in games. Build a beautiful and convincing game world, set up the rules, leave me to my devices. So far I have found the companions here very well acted which helps, but I do wish it was up to me if I want them along the whole time.

Exactly how I feel.

In general I dont mind them in conversations but I dont enjoy the random chatter when I'm trying to feel immersed in a world and theres no way to stop it

Sometimes its really smart how they recognize and comment on things like mutilated corpses or alternate paths to places where items are stored etc but yeah. I mean imagine being on your own the whole time in this game...

It would take my breath away..

Personaly I'd rather find those things myself.
I'm sick of them commenting on details I've not even looked at yet and them telling me theres a secret over there kills the sense of discovery.

If I could go at it alone I'd be so damn happy

I was so happy to kill the Scottish chick in the cell when she got out, I just wish I could adventure alone. Definitely done with the game before I could really get started because of the dialogue.
Oh....... there's no option to turn off companions chattering. I will have to think more about this game then.
