If you need to kill that rpg itch it works, but this game is really nothing to write home about. Woke or not I dont really care about that stuff. It's kinda bland but so far it's been good enough, untill a better rpg comes around I guess.

The only thing I've seen is a pronoun choice and it talks about body types instead of genders in the Char Creator. You have to decide for yourself whether that's too much for you.

Yes, the colorful mushrooms and the blue Aumaua and Orlans are actually part of Lore from the beginning. Different tribes and groups in different regions can have different colors. There seem to be many here with a strong connection to the sea and the ocean. The island we play on (The Living Land) is also described from the beginning with crazy and dangerous flora and fauna. The name Living Land comes from the fact that the island itself seems to be alive. I frankly find it even a bit too “normal” than what I've read about it in PoE. Haven't seen all the regions yet though.

I have to admit, though, that the blue of the Aumaua and Orlans is a bit too powerful for my taste. A little more subtle would probably have been a better fit.

IF you expect anything remotely close to dark fantasy out of Avowed, you aren't getting any. The entire Avowed is colored rainbow.

I can't recall one game of any genre that are colored rainbow before Avowed. People complain about the Last of Us Part 2 and how Neil Druckmann had ruined that game because of his fascination for Anita Sarkeesian or whoever it was he got inspiration out of, at least the Last of Us Part 2 didn't have rainbow colors.

It's colorful because it is set in a tropical wild land where a fungal growth is the fulcrum of the story. The color pallet makes perfect sense relative to what is going on.
