Why so much hate on the game?

i seen the trailer and it seems like it could be a fun game. why everyone hates it?
im going to get it via game pass but still what happened? is it concord type sh1t or what? i never heard about this game until i saw it on battlenet today.
can you please tell me in a tldr version and not scrolls of text like seen in other posts? thats the only reason im asking. please tell me in few words why this game is bad.

i am not going to watch any vids on the game to avoid spoilers and will go into it without any knowledge of the game to have an unbiased opinion.

No hate. The only thing i see is degradation of game quality, but the price only highter. This game suck as RPG from obsidian, its all what i can say. And i don't really care about "woke" things, its just a moment which goes parallelly with genre degradation, accidently quite often.

People are really overly dramatic about this game. It's clearly a miss match over expectations what this game truly is. An Elder Scrolls-like or Pillars of Eternity-like - and it is neither of those things. So this game really has to hold itself up by its own merit.

And then there's the controversy. I sometimes wonder if this game came out at the same time as Dragon Age the Veilguard, it would've been spared the usual Woke hate-train. Baldur's Gate 3 survived it, because it held its own.

I am afraid Avowed won't have that same effect, because there are a fair amount of instances I've seen where I feel as though the game has cut back on a lot of features.

price wise isnt really a big deal imo since you can play it for 2$ (thats what i will be doing anyway)

costs doesnt really matter to me as i will be getting it for 2$ so other then cost is there any BIG problems?

Two things that go agains this game.

First, the art director that decided to ♥♥♥♥ on 90% of the playerbase for some reason.

Second, the game is just a downgraded dumbed down RPG, and I really struggle to call what's here an RPG.

For some reason we are getting backward in termps of game quality.

Passionate studios are replaces by a bunch of people trying to make something for everyone and fail miserable in doing so.

This is Obsidian, how on earth we got from POE1 and POE2 to this ???

What it costs doesn't matter. Only thing that matters is if you think its worth that price to you. If you don't think it is, but still want to play it, then sub to gamepass and play it Tuesday.

Why is this so hard? Are you mad just because you can't play it right now or what? Cost means nothing when its on Gamepass.
