How to turn on HDR + DLSS4, DLAA with NVIDIA
Requires latest Nvidia driver (572.42 as of this writing)
You cannot set this in game right now. I don't know why Obsidian did not put this in the settings yet, but maybe we'll get a release day patch.
Instead, open your NVIDIA app. Go to Graphics, Find Avowed. Scroll down to Driver Settings.
Here, you can set:
RTX Dynamic Vibrance (prevents color crushing, you can turn it on here and then access in game via the NVIDIA overlay to play with settings.
RTX HDR I had this turned on globally, but for some reason Avowed ignores it. BUT, if you set it to ON here, it works. (verified on my monitor menu, also with my mk1 eyeballs.) NOTE - Make sure Windows Auto-HDR is disabled.
DLSS Override - Model Presets If you DON'T have a 50 series, you (obviously) cannot turn on multi-frame generation. BUT, if you have a 40 series, you CAN turn on DLSS 4. Select Use Different... Then for Frame Generation and Super Resolution select Latest from the drop downs which will use DLSS 4. If you have a 50 series, you can select Use Same...and select Latest.
DLSS Override - Super Resolution You can select DLAA here is you wish. It LOOKS fantastic, but it WILL chop your fps by quite a bit. (I have a 4070ti and it HALVED my framerate)

Now start your game and BEHOLD THE WONDER! (And wonder why these aren't in-game settings options as well...) :winter2019happydog:

Sadly, none of this is applicable to my 3060.

Why not? 3000 series can use DLAA.
Hey OP question

If I dissabled ray tracing do I need those RTX settings even if I have an RTX gpu?

I have a RTX 3080, what can I turn on other than DLAA?

It's already a weaker end GPU for the game--recommended is a 3080--and my CPU is only a Ryzen 5 3600. I'm not expecting to get amazing framerates as is, and if DLAA will drop them by half, then it doesn't really seem viable.

i7 7700k with a RTX 3080 here. I just enabled DLAA and I'll report back to you.

You might just be exceeding your VRAM specs. Textures and all those fancy graphical setting can do that real easy.

I know that mine decked out minus view distance at 1440p I'm pulling at leasts 6.5gb of VRAM of my 10gb.

Just so it is clear gpu VRAM is NOT system ram. I have 32gb of that.

Does this work on the PC Gamepass version?
I am getting a lot of shimmering on my 5090
Hmm, I can't seem to get this to recognize the gpu settings in the Nvidia app. I can change them but it is showing me it can't load them.

I don't know why.

Yes, I updated to the latest nvidia gpu driver.

Weird. NVIDIA's chart shows 30 & 20 series support DLSS4 Ray Reconstruction, DLSS Super Resolution, and DLAA. Should be able to turn on Latest for DLSS and DLAA.
RTX HDR works for 20 series and newer. Make sure Windows Auto-HDR is disabled.

I think it is because this is the PC GamePass Version.

If you have any ideas, I'm open to them.

It is telling me in the Nvidia App, "Unable to retrieve settings, try again later."

The entire game menu feels very outdated for a game that is trying to be next gen. And the fact that we can't enable frame gen in settings is ridiculous. And then I realized it doesn't have native HDR? And no Ray reconstruction

What gives you the idea it's trying to be next gen?

The fact that Nvidia released a driver for it and is pushing it. It has most of the latest features, but not all of them
Reminder for release day; This game does support RTX HDR, DLSS4, and Multi-frame generation, there are just no menu options in game to turn it on.

Did you find a solution? I am having the same problem I just want to use dlss 4 and multi frame gen on my 5080.
