Avowed
Does it do justice to Pillars 1 and 2?
Title.

Be civil, come on.

yes, in terms of lore and content, idk if gameplay translates, but the way i see it is like "divinity 2 ego draconis" is to "divine divinity". Its basically just a first person spin off set in the same universe with a continuation of the lore.

Well, Tyranny was better, at least in terms of writing, but they all have the same themes of being metaphors for real world history, and addressing the beneficial and detrimental effects that colonizing inhabited versus uninhabited locations has, and this looks about the same.

From what I hear, from generally everyone, is that the story and characters are very weak compared to other Obsidian games.
from what I can tell from reviews, a lot of the skills and abilities from pillars one and two haven't been translated to the game. From what I could gather from asmongold and luke stephens is that the abilities can just be boiled down to sword, basic magic, and gun/bow so no shape shifting as an example. Plus from what Luke Stephens could gather, there is a massive save corruption bug as well as the 3rd act area being exceptionally buggy.

Not really.
Or if you mean by justice that it continues the sharp decline from PoE 1 to 2 then yeah, flawlessly.
I've not beaten Pillars 1 yet, but so far from my time playing Avowed it's pretty decent on a lore level. The gameplay feels more simple, and it has less sheer volume of skills/spells/classes, but it's still good so far.

From what I've played of Avowed so far, it feels like a game that I would recommend someone play if they wanted to get a feel for the world of Eora, and then jump into pillars if they want to go deeper into it/try some of the more unique classes that the pillars games have. It's hard to make a direct comparison since avowed is more skyrim to pillars's diablo
Anyone telling you Avowed does justice to Poe1, or even Poe2 (way worse than Poe1) is directly lying in your face or to themselves.

Why do people dislike POE2? I’m genuinely curious. I loved POE1 and am enjoying POE2 a lot as well. They’re both 87% positive with nearly the same amount of reviews. Is it the pirates?

That is common in most First person adventure games compared to CRPG games though.
It is a harder medium to translate into.

I'd say so. The game is brimming with references to the Deadfire, Dyrood, and the Watcher of Caed Nua. So much so I kinda wished they focused on the Living Lands a little more in lore dumps.

Pillars 2 is one of my favorite games of all time and I backed pillars 1 when it was a KS. I am loving this game. It has fun combat, great side quests, rewards exploration, good writing and I love that the colours are like the colours in Pillars 2.

Not as hardcore as Pillars 2, but still an enjoyable action rpg. Played 13 hours now and am having a blast.

I don't get it either, man. PoE2 is a better game in virtually every single way. It's bigger in scope, it has more customization options, it has deeper and more nuanced companion interactions, it has better graphics across the board, etc.

It's a superior game in essentially all respects.

That’s my feeling as well.
